So I'm rummaging around at Fuzzy's place and there in his scrap pile (hint) was a WWII half track combat rim with 75 year old non directional tire still mounted. I'm thinking, oh, people need these for half tracks, better save it. So I look it over, drag it out, load it in my little truck...
Couple hints: It is good practice to keep the parts on each hub together as a set. Also, if your hubs were nice and quiet, and you don't feel like doing a lash clearance set up on your spider gears, note the clocking of the wheel bearing nut's dowel pin, and put it back in the same spot going...
Looks pretty good! Do yourself a favor and go through the fuel system: Drain and remove the tank and fill with 10 gallons of E85, haul it around with you in your daily driver for a few days. Then drain, remove the in tank pump, flush with water, scoop/shop vac out the remaining rust, replace...
Agreed. That homemade top looks awful. I have a set of the soft top frame parts that go over the door that need a new home. Let me check if they are usable and get back with you.
I might add that the Hawker batteries are AGMs and are worth a small fortune, and can last over 10 years if cared for. See about getting a AGM charger/maintainer. If the batteries are severely discharged, only the AGM chargers can bring them back from the dead.
My opinion is that the glow plug functioning has nothing to do with whether the alternator charges or not. Look at the alternator for issues or lack of power to the alternator excite wire.
Welcome. Most sites DO have a forklift, but the standard GP language is "you load it from where is sits". That said, some sites WILL push load your vehicle onto an appropriate trailer, which of course in the case of a drop deck, requires you to have ramps. The sites do not have loading docks...
I never had vapor lock problems here in hot Texas. I would start with the known issues: Holes rusted in the tank pickup tube, issues with the ignition resistor, bad ignition module.
Congratulations. Not everyday does a truck come along with the provenance of thatone.82nd Airborne, 3-319 Airborne FieldArtillery. That truck, along with theM777 howitzer, would get airdropped anywhere something needed to bedestroyed. The 3-319 is still verymuch activated at Bragg. They have1093A1s...
Looking through the MVPA vehicle registry, all the WC-1's have 7 digit VINs. There is a W-26757 which is close to your W-26083 and it's VIN is 8661698. So, based on that, I think I see 866?87? as your VIN. Sand on it some to see if more definition on the stamping appears. Do you have date of...
Parts support for these trucks is abysmal at best. There is no one place you can call that has everything. Some parts come from Cat, some from FinditParts, some from ebay, some from FMTVtrucks.com. I would not BEGIN to consider sinking 6 digits into one of these trucks to make a camper, only...
So is the consensus that this IS a FAV? I know the FAV add-ons were kinda homemade looking, but the roll bar/gun mount on this one looks weird. Also does not have those different wheels. This is a USMC vehicle though.
Welcome. My personal opinion is to scrap all that stuff. I collect modern radio stuff and that setup does not appear to be something anyone is seeking.
