Front winch install progress..slow, but moving along

It has been a number of years since I last installed a deuce winch, but isn't the shaft splined? Or, am I mistakenly remembering the 5 ton winch drive shaft? I know I installed the winch before I installed the drive shaft and I know I did not have to loosen the winch.

    tandem axle tralier

Dave Olchak has a dual wheel trailer for sale. He is N3UKA on this list. His trailer formerly had a laundry unit mounted on it. The trailer is MINT. I am not sure what he wanted for it.

New to site, maybe buying my first CUCV soon..

I've dealt with Ted and he is a good guy. I've never purchased a truck from him, but everything else he has sold me was just as promised. I would consider buying a truck from him if he had what I wanted. $6500 for a Blazer is a little on the high side, but maybe not if you consider he'll...

What's everyone think is the best SINGLE color for my HEMTT?

Damon, The green shows every little scuff. Give it a try...rub your knuckles across the door on your HEMTT and you will leave a white mark. This mark sometimes washes off or weathers out, but not always. The tan is much more durable IMHO. Painting CARC is no more hazardous than painting with...

m-621 project nears completion (norway deuce)

Typical "Tom Bauer" work...top notch. It looks great, Tom. Very impressive...

What's everyone think is the best SINGLE color for my HEMTT?

Damon, I recommend that you use 686A tan CARC. That would look sharp (and current)! Do you want your truck to look good...or good and accurate? If it is the latter, CARC 383 green or 686A tan are your only choices. If you are not striving for 100% accuracy, then the choice of a color is a...

M923A2 came home with me today!

The cool thing about Chris' truck is...he has already done all of the work. All that truck needs is a little cosmetics. She sure is a sweet runner! I'll spread the word, too, Chris.

WTB: M939 exhaust tip and M939 soft top frame assembly

If you have either item, or can suggest a place where I can find this stuff, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!

    Mermite can question

Bjorn: Why not buy an M149A2 water trailer? I used to have one for sale, but a fellow SteelSoldiers member bought it.

    Mermite can question

I've got several Mermite cans that are in really nice shape that I got from N3UKA (thanks, Dave!)...and I can attest to the fact that they make great beer coolers. My only complaint about them...they can't hold enough beer...that's why I got several. I had one that was sitting out on my deck...

    some mules at Little Rock

Mike: $2500-3500 for a good runner that needs cosmetics sounds reasonable. I suppose prices go up, especially for collector vehicles that become more rare. I just can't believe a mule will bring as much money as it does. People willingly pay $5-6K (or more) for a mule, but I bet you'll be...

    some mules at Little Rock

Hey MADDAWG: What do you mean by "now or never with prices going through the roof." Prices are ALREADY through the roof. How much higher could they go? $6K? $7K? $10K? Would someone really pay that much for a mule (...before you say it, I know that Leonard Grove got $6500 for fully...

Purchasing a M109A2 SHOP VAN TRUCK

Sorry...attached the same pic twice. I'll try again.

Purchasing a M109A2 SHOP VAN TRUCK

Condition is another factor that will directly affect pricing. I paid $6,000 for an M109A3 (pics attached). It was very nice (rust free, airshift, very good tires, new cab top, fresh CARC paint). I will also add that I bought this from a dealer, not a private seller. I can't say one is...

    New M816

DESERT DEUCE: I did not mean my message to come across so strongly. I meant it as a friendly suggestion to consider your alternatives. I think you made the right choice. I've driven a truck home from an auction on two occasions...about 400 miles each time (both from SC to MD). I did have...

    Transporting M105A2

I've picked them up with deuces and also with 1-ton pickups. Both pull them without a problem, although they do point down a bit with the pickups.

    New CUCV owner

My reco...clean it up as best you can...give it a quickie paint job as MASSM35A2 said...and drive it as is. You'll go broke trying to fix everything...especially since you can get a clean M1028 retail for about $6K.

    M925 floor mat

The purpose of that mat is to rust the floor out.

    New M816

You are considering driving a truck that you just won at an auction 1800 miles?!?! Sheer madness... Get a trucker to haul it. If something goes wrong, you will have wished you paid to have it hauled. That trip will stress that truck unbelievably. Is it worth it? The cost of hauling should...

    Disappointed with GL description

A word on pictures to those that don't already know this...they ALWAYS lie. Assume the truck looks no where near as good as the pictures and you will be a happier person. I can say that I have NEVER seen a truck that looked as good in person as I was expecting based upon what I saw in the...
