    GL or Private sale?????

I am big into the auction scene these days, but I still buy from dealers if they've got what I want. With that said, my first three deuces were all purchased from Joe Young and I am VERY happy I chose to buy from a dealer the first time around (actually the first three times around!). It saved...

    M105A2 questions

I've seen guys drop the height of the M105 by installing rims/tires off of an Isuzu cab-over truck (the bolt pattern matches perfectly). This eliminates the problem of needing three guys to help hook up the trailer, but you still have the problem of weight. Empty, the trailer weighs over 2700...

    M105A2 questions

I'd almost guarantee that the trailer is older than 1996, but 1996 was the year that the current owner applied for the title. THe newer trailers have different front lifting shackles on each side of the front a-frame (right in front of the bed). The newer trailer's lifting rings protrude...

How much should I ask for My M715 I want to sell!

I agree with MADDAWG. Around $3K sounds about right. I will add that you will get more if you could even throw a quickie OD paint job on it. A lot of guys don't want a military truck unless it is military color. They are good trucks...but you have to know what to expect and what the truck...

    Surplus hummers hitting the market?

If you want a HMMWV, save your pennies. They are available at reasonable prices (although "reasonable" is a relative term). The prices are not going any where but up IMHO.

GL Live Auction at Aberdeen show

I heard the M35A2 brought around $3500 and the M818 went for around $6500. Interestingly, I was told that GL waived the 10% bidders premium. Not sure who got the deuce, but I believe someone on this list got the M818.

    Deuce dump M342A2

You literally stole that truck! Great job!

    Deuce dump M342A2

As evidenced by all of the new guys on this list with M35s, I think GL is just doing their job and, unfortunately, they are very good at advertising (I say "unfortunately" because this has caused prices to increase exponentially). Their lot descriptions are starting to sound very similar to...

    Deuce dump M342A2

RE: Duece dump M342A2 I can almost guarantee that truck will go through the roof. There is no way it should bring more than $4000-5000, but it will. I say that because I know where there is a 1973 M342A2 w/w in fairly decent shape. The guy wants $7K for it...but you can go test drive it.

    How does krylon OD compare....?

RE: krylon I've had great luck with the Gillespie products and I always purchase from Mark Dodd at Rapco (SERMIS, are you Mark Dodd? If so, I never knew that). With that said, I love the Krylon ultra flat black...it is a dead on match for CARC black. I realize that this is not the color you...

    Classifieds... Only place for ads?

If it is to become part of the forum, either in a separate section like it used to be or in conversations, perhaps, we can add WTS before posts we want to sell, WTB before posts we want to buy. This way anyone who is not interested in reading "classifieds" can skip over them. Personally, I've...

    Air Shift or Sprag??

Kenny, by the way, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but your son, shown in your avatar, is an incredibly polite, nice young man. I hope he'll be at the Aberdeen shpw like he was a few years back. I guess I should not be surprised since the apple does not fall far from the tree. :)

M923A2 came home with me today!

I agree...ditch the DRMO "stencil." It sure as h*** does not enhance the look of the truck, especially in red! Put her back to original. I can't wait to get my M925A2 that I got with you on that sale on the road. Mine is tan and is also stenciled with the Seabee's logo. My other camo M925A2...

M923A2 came home with me today!

No worries, Chris...with the wife pregnant, I'm not driving anything to the show so you should have the most impressive truck on the lot. My wife is due any day now so I might have to make a quick getaway! :D Chris, I can't wait to see your truck. You've really done a lot to it in a very...

    Air Shift or Sprag??

I've been told that the 5 ton sprag design is much more robust and that is why it worked better and for longer. You still have the same "care and operation" issues mentioned previously, but the 5 ton sprag is more stout.

    m108 question

Yes, Kenny, Murray's truck was a newer truck with an M108 bed on it. He had it at Aberdeen last year and I'm not sure he ever sold it.

    Air Shift or Sprag??

RE: Re: Air Shift or Sprag?? If I had my choice, I would choose an airshift truck over one with a sprag...less to worry about and I like the idea of being able to lock in the front wheels BEFORE I need them. With that said, there is nothing wrong with a truck with a sprag...but the operator...

    4K rough terrain Forklift

Dave, if you are referring to the 4WD forklifts that usually have the winch on the back and are fairly low to the ground, John Winslow currently has a nice one for around $12K. I like them, but the forks are fairly short.

    M35A2 or M813?

They are usually more expensive, but you get so much more truck for the money with an M813. The M35A2 is a great truck...I've owned many of them...but they are really fairly small and drive like it (heck, a school bus has a higher GVW!). However, I am not sure I'd want an M813 for my first...

    813 transmission

DO NOT put a plug in the open line. You WILL pressurize the transmission. Been there...done that. I replaced that valve on my first M813A1. When I got the truck, there was a plug in that line so, when I took it apart, I put it back together the same way. Thankfully, Jeff S. (Tactical Truck)...
