Any possibility that maybe you have a piece of wood or maybe a piece of rubber between the frame and the "base" of the dump frame? It's goofy as can be, but installing (for example) a line body onto a new truck - gets a stick of oak between the frame and the bed body. Makes it impossible to...

Well, the numbers that @simp5782 listed earlier and watching some parts being sold are definitely good (valid?). Good if you are selling. They can be good too if you need those parts - and you can't find them anywhere else. Oh, and by the way removing that stuff from a truck to sell it...

If the truck doesn't run - there really isn't a choice. Gotta move it, gotta cage the brakes. There are trucks that are marked DNR (Does Not Run) and they might or might not run. It didn't run in the yard where ever the truck was "sidelined". The ones that are tested and start and run are...

Looks to me like "you done good".
At least you have a top and doors and a canvas for the back.
Lots of the vehicles coming out of Georgia were missing doors, so you have a running start.

Sounds really grand, but the California DMV is already having problems registering a HMMWV. I can't imagine that they are going to help you register a BRDM-2. Maybe you could register it in another state - but at some point in time - when you hit the road I can just imagine the CHiPs folks...

That is how it works...
Sometimes you just can't find it.
Been there myself many times!
That is why this place is such a good source of information.
Glad to know that you already had the TM's too!
.
Yes sir. I find some really cool stuff on the other side of the country. Most of the time the cost for shipping ruins it, but eventually fuel prices will come back down. Like that comment about February 29th too. :)
.
Now, you have your answer and the parts are on their way so - what about possibly downloading the TM (Technical Manual) for your truck now? Not being a jerk here. Just trying to help you see how those books will make you life easier and make you smarter in the future. The 24p (parts book)...

Keep shopping. You might eventually find something better. OR, you might buy one with doors and a top and a maybe cab that is mostly intact. Then find another truck that claims to run in the auction report. Put the parts together, and sell off the extra parts and possibly get some of your...

Outside rear battery is on the 12v part of the connection. Drop a charger on that one battery (don't bother disconnecting everything else) and cook it for a few hours and that D@$# infernal clicking should go away. These trucks are "over batteried" and they just don't get a good charge with...
.
Well, that doesn't sound like fun...
The good part is that you didn't end up with the WooFlu on top of the heart attack!
Hope the Saw Bones can get you cobbled back together on the first attempt.
Remember to work smarter. Hustling a 5-Ton tire and rim is no joke. Barely get the wheel off...
.
Tojo has a wire rope that the spare tire hangs from under the truck. (Picture Below and it looks like your picture as well) There is a hole - generally above or beside the license plate that allows you to lower the tire to the ground. Size of the tire is only limited by the space you have...
.
You might look for a Chevy spare holder on a square body truck.
Item #5 in the picture is a "must have" and clean is really nice to have.
Item #3 is pretty important too.
Word Of Caution: A flat on the rear can be dangerous. You just about can't get the spare off the under-bed cradle with a...
