It basically helps keeps the governor from surging conditions, but in all honesty just using your foot to adjust the fuel if your slowing down is better in my opinion. That is why I believe the TM manuals don't go into such great detail about the droop screw. Now in generator applications that...
Stainless will not harm or cause any problems with the aluminum. I worked building "Seine" winches at Kolstrand Marine for the Alaskan fishing fleet out of Seattle for a decade. All the later winches where made from aluminum and all the fasteners "had" to be stainless steel. These winches where...
This is some more information about the different settings of the LDT and LDS pumps. Picture one shows how to adjust the main fuel on the "Fuel Density Compensator" . Picture two shows how much the LDT pump should put out at 2600 RPM's (37.5 to 38.5 cc/500 strokes) . Picture three shows how much...
I forgot to add these pictures. Picture one shows the new "PTFE" stainless steel oil supply hose. Pictures two and three show adjusting the "droop" screw.
The "droop" screw is to help the governor with "surging" problems. In pump models that are installed in generators there is a special "droop"...
Help !!! Your driving on the wrong side of the road !!!
I got dizzy thinking you where going to get into an accident at any moment !
I like the fact that you taught your students to "Double Clutch" . That will go a long way in keeping the transmission and drivetrain in good working order.
Good...
No, that is not correct. All Rockwell differentials used a 1.62" shaft size with 16 splines. Your probably thinking about the M135 2.5ton which used a totally different axle then the M35's used. Also the old style 'U'-joints (Rezepa) are in fact really well built 'U'-joints. If you look up the...
Rub your fingers in it and smell it like "Flyingvan911" mentioned. Just don't taste it ! My best friend and a fellow mechanic (we went to trade school together ) loves to "taste everything" !!! I keep telling him someday something you put in your mouth will kill you ! Of course he has lived this...
You did use the correct flywheel bolts right ? You cannot just use any old bolt here. First off they need to be grade '8' and second they need to have a shoulder to engage the flywheel so it does not loosen. If you used the correct bolts then it would not have had any contact with the housing.
OK, first off you need to download all the deuce manuals from this site. Study them real hard. They will have most all your answers to any questions you may have about your truck. Get the TM manuals that have the "P" at the end. These are your parts manuals. With these you can look up the NSN...
In a way I was lucky since the guy ahead of me panicked. They restrained him and held him there in the chamber until he had totally pukked his guts out. I saw how they treated anyone who tried to get out and so when my time came I recited my general orders like the others (they hold you until...
It' very common to pull the lifters out when removing the pushrods. Get a flashlight and look own there and see if you can make out the lifter. If you see it then you can use a long magnet tool like mechanics do and fish it out. Then you will have to use the same tool to reinstall it and a long...
Are you talking about the "axle shift" differentials ? Those are the strongest of all lockers in my opinion. Our "Breda" bus had those and they can take an extremely harsh beating before even thinking about breaking. I would love to get three axles for my deuce, but the cost of shipping would be...
