I'd suggest keeping your speed to 60 mph or less. The truck can cruise all day long at 65 mph, but, since you don't know the truck, it would be wise not to push it...especially on its maiden 600 mile voyage. Good luck. I bet you'll be fine. The M1009s are great highway vehicles.

The street legal limit is 102". The M812 truck, itself, is 114" wide, not including the mirrors. What M1075 said was correct...the truck is overwidth because the 1400 X 20 duals and the bed are 114" wide. If you removed the bed and mounted 1100 X 20s, you'd be legal. 1400 X 20s are HUGE...

I once saw a water tanker mounted on an M809 chassis, but I never saw the dataplate to check to see if it had its own M #. I have never seen a 5 fuel truck, except for cargo trucks with the fuel cells and reel assembly in the bed.

I have read and heard that the M819 used 1200 X 20s, while the other M809 series trucks (except for the bridge trucks) used 1100s. I have never seen any 1200 X 20s. Why would one wrecker (M816) utilize smaller tires than the other (M819)? Perhaps, you can consider using 1100 X 20s.
