Scarryy, This does not mean it was right but it is true that a lot of trucks are sold this way so I do not think there was any malice there. I was also going to say I thought you two were handling this quite well and was going to admonish those that are trying to get you two to fight and then...
I would think if someone were going to hijack guns from a military convoy they would be prepared for a lot more than one gun per vehicle. That type of an operation would be fairly well thought out and planned.

Bigger is not always better. Like I said, If you are tearing up 400's then you either need a different tranny builder or you need to figure out what YOU, not the tranny, is doing wrong. Built right these transmissions are almost indestructible. If you are tearing up the 400's then you will tear...
More than once I have been waved into the convoy line at JBMDL. I live along the ranges so I have to use the same road as they do and yes they are armed with live ammo. Difference being is that I am waved into the line by them, it is obvious I am not military. I am in civvies and driving a 50...
I am not looking for a fight, I have been a master mechanic for 40 plus years and I have done just a couple (thousand) transmission fluid changes. Changing the fluid does not make it slip. There is always a mitigating factor. In this case I am betting the filter was not pushed all the way in or...
You had a tranny guy tell you that old clutch material helps the clutch's hook up? Okaaaay.........................
If you use the right transmission fluid that is called for by the manufacturer then it will have all the friction modifiers you need. I bought my truck with 2900 miles on it and...
I think the locked motor and the gallon of coolant in the pan are pretty good clues that you have a little more than rust issues. I think you have an extra hole in there.
Rick
Disconnect the linkage at the transmission, make sure wheels are chocked. Put shifter in "N", Go under truck and move trans linkage two clicks from park. Shift linkage should line up and go right in, if not adjust until it fits. I don't think this is going to be your problem because you would...
Mike, You ain't exactly a small guy, are you planning to leave room for yourself in there?
For those who have never seen his infamous butane stove...................think campfire and stove all rolled into one. Fire extinguisher is a REAL good idea, X 2.
I think your list is very viable, couple...
I put a Trans-Go shift improver kit in every trans I do. And the cooler. You do not need the shift reprogramming kit, they are different. The improver kit will raise the line pressure where needed to prevent slipping and it will not give the neck breaking shifts that some of the other kits do...
You got me there, I never met him personally other than to see him at Bonneville. Got to say hello and ask a couple of questions, that was about it.

If you have 9" X 9" floor tile then it is asbestos. BUT! It is nowhere near as bad as insulation since the asbestos is encapsulated. I have been replacing my subfloor so I have had to deal with it. As long as you are not grinding it or cutting it with a power saw you are not going to be putting...
Have you tried getting off of that pin? Not likely to happen, there is a LOT of stress on that truck right now. Do not let anyone near it if you try. Probably have to get the trailer lifted a bit to relieve the pressure on the pin. Be sure to check out the saddle bolts very well afterwards.
Well like they say, pictures or it didn't happen. You HAVE pictures! I actually forgot about that one, I guess that was the one he was referring to. I was thinking more along the lines of some of the other Darwin candidates I have seen.
Rick
Just remember, you are hot rodding a 50 year old engine that had a dismal reliability record in stock form. Stock up on extra engines!
Rick
P.S. You might want to talk to the school administrators about what they are teaching you! The teachers need some teaching. You need to learn the basics...
