Replacing a track on a D8 is a nightmare and we used an excavator! I can't imagine a tank where it is bigger, a LOT heavier and the track is not exposed.

If you are breaking 400's like that then they are being built wrong. Plain and simple. A buddy of mine has built these for years for everything from daily drivers to pro dragsters. A lot of pro street cars use them along with the 700R4 which is nothing more than a modified 400. What are you...
Don't forget moving said tank from A to B. Lot's of overweight and oversize permits and a truck big enough to do the job. You will be restricted from crossing a LOT of bridges so you could have to drive over a hundred miles just to go ten.

Have you checked the classifieds on here? I know there is one person on here with a couple for sale, or did have. I can't think of his name right off the bat, I hate getting old. Depending on your house you might only need an 002. They will put out a solid 7500 watts.

I have the older 8274 with the original motor, not the newer 3.X hp motor. It would do all of the above mentioned things. Was your winch new or used? Check all of the wire connections on the contacts in the control box. There are four solenoids in there, make sure all are clean and tight. This...
That winch should very easily drag that truck with all four wheels locked and dug in. If it can't then something is wrong. I woould guess the cables going to it are too small, too long, or bad connections. Like I said before, I have the very same winch and have pulled with it for 40 years until...
That is what I am trying to get across to him, he better get it straightened out with what he is going to do with it because apparently he already won it. It is his. I guess you might be able to cancel before the EUC goes through but I would bet that will screw you for any future sales. They...
See this thread, This guy was lucky but his circumstances were totally different. You just decided you don't want it. That is not going to fly with them. That is how any auction works, once you win the bid it is yours. If you do not pick it up within the allotted time it will be resold and you...
Lock the brakes and let the truck dig in till the winch just about stalls. That will simulate being stuck or being tied off and pulling someone else out. If it does not bend then you may be alright but keep in mind that very seldom do you get a straight pull. Rolling 6011 with a 7018 filler is...
If you bought it through G/L and did not preview it then it does not matter if the information was right or wrong. you bought it, period. You may have to pay the penalty or you could lose the whole amount as an abandonment. You may want to get that straight real quick! Do NOT assume you will...
If you sent a fax then there is a paper trail. Most fax machines give you a receipt and even if it did not there will be a trail through the phone records. He can deny he got it but you can prove you sent it. It seems you do this for a business so you must have a lawyer you can consult when...
You are going to have to make some spring adjustments with that and the winch. Otherwise you will be wearing out bump stops and lumbar joints.
Rick
I find it curious that you have not made any mention of the wrecker company in all this. If in fact you did contact them about the truck then someone there holds at least part of the responsibility, a large part in my eyes. Have you used this company in the past? More than once? Will you use...
THAT will get you thrown in jail if you get caught!!!!! You cannot swap VIN plates. They are held on with special star rivets only available to the manufacturer so it will be obvious that it was changed. The body vin will no longer match the frame vin and there will be a lot of explaining to...
Normal fuel line would be fine, you are not really pulling a vacuum per se. Regular fuel line in a car is good for at least 15 inches of vacuum and that is the old stuff, not the new expensive fuel injection hose. Pulling from a drum on the ground you may get one or two inches of vacuum. The...
