Anything below 23 volts and I doubt you will get much of anything. I would say if you are driving 20 miles then take two good batteries with you. Check the ones in there first like I said, have someone hit the switch while you have a meter on them. What does the voltmeter in the truck say? If...
You need to check the battery voltage while someone hits the switch. If the voltage does not drop there then the relay is bad. 23 volts is still too low and will cause an increase in amperage across the relay. It may not be enough to burn it but do not hold it to long if it does not start. You...
He said M-35 or something similar. What you are suggesting are going to cost close to his budget right off the bat and how are you going to modify it for a large family on the cheap? You would still have to build a 6 door truck.

I am not real familiar with this truck but how do you have 23 volts at the starter but only 12 at the relay? Does it not go through the relay to the starter or is it a low currant relay to a second high currant relay on the starter? No matter, a 12 volt drop under load would indicate to me a...
I am glad someone finally added that in. 40 plus year old high maintenance truck with a top SAFE speed of 50 MPH. Note I said SAFE speed, I don't care how fast some of you guy's have gone. No air bags, no rollover protection, no antilock brakes, single stage brakes at that. Hearing protection...
I am in no way an expert on these things but isn't an MKT too heavy for 16 inch tires? If I remember correctly a load range E tire is good for maybe 3200 lbs. max.. That would be 6000lb. total, I thought they were heavier than that.
Rick
Isn't it amazing that the scrapper would only get maybe 100.00 worth of metal out of it but I am sure he gouged you for substantially more than that. He KNEW you would not let it get crushed. Scrappers are leeches I swear! Yes I know there are a couple of well known members on here who are...
First and foremost make sure the metal is clean and free of rust. Do not melt the rod with the flame, the rod should be fed into the puddle. Heat, dip, advance. Heat, dip, advance. As was said practice, and lots of it will make you better but gas welding is a dead art. It is too hot for most...
Come on guys, give it a freakin break! You are like a bunch of school kids, once you know you are under someones skin you just keep digging trying to get a response. We are all a bunch old hardheaded old bastards and nobody wants to be the first to back down. Let's all just ease up a bit OK?
I am sure most of you know why he posted the title that way. Ever since he came on this forum some members have ridden his tail with every question he has asked with the RTFM crap. I, for one, do not blame him for being sarcastic and I give him a lot of credit for even sticking with the forum...
Water pump has to be part of a closed loop system to work and it is not designed to moved heavy fluids. The heater ports are only a small part of the overall system and will not work alone.
Rick
Has it run yet? I can see guys hanging on the trailer while it is going down the highway doing the run in on the cam! That would even beat out one of my last minute thrashes.:) GD is looking a little stressed! I see one big a**ed party coming when this weekend is over.
