Well I finally got time to take some new pictures showing the fuel tank installation. I finally wired up the inverter to the batteries. i will have pictures of that next time. At least now I can actually use the A/C unit if I need it!
I bought one of those boxes from a guy on Ebay months ago! I installed it on my M820A2 in place of the Pioneer rack. I paid $121.00 shipped for a brand new one with the mounting hardware. His Ebay ID is kpsurplus .
I am attaching some pictures of the box mounted.
I mounted the painted fuel tank today. I used 4 allthreads and two 15" pieces of Unistrut to secure the tank into place. I added some CAMO colors to make it blend in better.
Tomorrow I will start to run the wires for the Inverter. i was running round today to look for ANL fuses for the...
Well I tested the A/C unit today by first using an extension cord plugged into the house. It seemed to run fine and gave lots of air movement. I temporarily installed the inverter using the jumper cables provided to power the inverter.
I plugged the A/C unit into the inverter and started it...
Yes it will be painted green today. i just want to make sure it works before i paint it all up. The A/C unit is rated about 600 watts. The inverter is 900 watts sustained and 1800 watt surge so i am well within the safety margin of the unit.
I am installing a 900 watt inverter to power the A/C unit. Unit draws 600 watts.

I am going to paint the firewall and floor with ceramic paint that is supposed to insulate the cab from the heat. The soft top is already insulated. I am not expecting ice cold but at least be comfortable. Anything is better than what it's like now!
Here is some info about the ceramic paint...
My last major project on this M820A2 truck was the Super Single Conversion. Since I could not get the 1400-20 spare tire installed in the carrier behind the cab (due to its 550 pounds plus weight) I decided to use the space for other more desirable components. Since the truck has a liftgate I...
I have to agree with you. The wipers suck during any descent rain. They don't wipe the entire area that they sweep. They only make partial contact with the window. THis is with brand new wiper blades!
I would love to do the electric conversion. If anyone finds a cheap source for them PM me.
Sorry to hear about your accident. If you are on blood thinners you gotta be extra careful when you are working on these beasts or anything sharp. I am also on blood thinners and it's a pain! Even a nose bleed can kill ya!!!!
I hope you get better soon. :driver:
I opened it up on my own but you need more people in order to line up the panel PINS the align the walls as well as the ceiling portion. Without the help its a nightmare..in and out of the truck, up and down ladders!!!
I am sure they were much easier to handle when they were new and everything...
Right now I am just hauling personal stuff in it. Later I plan on a camper conversion that will blow your socks off! All the cabinets and appliances will be modular so they can be repositioned when the sides are expanded out.
I don't think it comes with any tools and benches. I have not heard from anyone buying one with tools and stuff still in it. The box is very complex and probably consumes a major part of that cost. There is also the 100' 100 amp rated electrical cord that comes with the truck as well as the...
