    LD/LDT vs LDS Hydraulic heads

That's who I use for all my filters. Great prices.

    Vibration/Noise - Bad Transfer Case?

That was a good catch ! You where so lucky, since it would not take long to destroy all the bearings and seals and shafts in a situation like that !

The big trip and a new MV.

Are you talking about the chamber in the center of each piston ? If so then those cracks are caused by excessive heat. Since they didn't go all the way through you should be able to use those pistons. Eventually the pistons will probably fail, but that might be years down the road or never. I've...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

HanksDeuce: 8" Lift, Bobbed, External Cage, A/C and more Project!

Cotter pins work fine just more expensive then wire. That's the only reason the manufactures went with wire. I have rebuilt many differentials just using cotter pins until the boss said I was wasting money.

    12 volts source

Or you could just put a large resistor inline with the 24 volt feed and drop the volts down to 12 volts.

Pyrometer/EGT gauge: Are the K-probes all the same?

They have different "impedances" (resistance) . You must match up the correct one for the gauge to read correctly.

    LD/LDT vs LDS Hydraulic heads

That's just the problem ! The manual is over 60 years old and the filters are no longer made ! You must use aftermarket ones. I believe WIX sells a couple designs.

    Vibration/Noise - Bad Transfer Case?

When you check the "backlash" on the front axle you carefully turn the flange until you "feel" it make contact with the other gear. You can feel this, you just need to turn it slowly.

    letssleds M-135 Project

WOW ! Your putting some serious money into this project ! A new Allison costs around $20,000.00 ! What kind of deal did you get ? I used to rebuild them and a typical rebuild would cost over $5,000.00 ! You have some deep pockets my friend !

Oil seal mod. for 3053 input shaft

Called "Novak" today and they said they would not do a project with this limited amount of interest. I guess we in the MV world don't count for much ! Hopefully Steve will be successful in getting a working unit out for us.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Peashooter sold them and then provided the link and other information about them in his "most excellent" brake post ! Get with the program "Ahab" ! All the "Cool" kids are doing this "like totally awesome" mod !

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I've broken a ton of parts, but never a front end part. Once I break something in a front end I'll change my tune. I wasn't going to buy a spool for an axle I'm replacing soon. I can respect that kind of decision. Run her till she breaks !

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You bunch of young "whipper-snappers" should be able to drive all day long ! I can. I just can't get out of the car afterwards .

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The problem with welding the gears is the weld itself is not strong enough since you will not get as good a bond as you would with mild steel. Since the gears are an "alloy" the penetration is not that good. I know as I have welded gears before. That's why there are "spools" out there being...

Parking brake-- Do I need it?

That's what I used to say about my father. He was born in 1917.

Parking brake-- Do I need it?

Wrenchstench92 I'm not angry at you, I just wanted you to understand that these trucks are not a everyday play toy. It sounded like that was what you where after in your first couple of posts. These trucks are just like us "old farts" . Used hard in their day, now their tired and worn-out but...
