In New Jersey it is illegal for anyone, adult or child, to ride in an open back vehicle. Of coarse the military has it's own rules. I don't know many states where you can legally ride in a trailer, how many of you remember the cattle cars?:roll::roll::roll:

I would bet my next paycheck that the cam bearings are wiped. A rod that bad would mean little or no oil pressure or flow to the cam. Check the rollers on the lifters also.

Are you talking about the manufacturer VIN or the military data plate? The data plate on my CUCV is on the drivers door. Since these are known for rusting is it possible the door was replaced?

You do realize that a CDL is not just an endorsement on your current license don't you? There is a fairly involved written test and then you will need a CDL truck and driver for the test. At least that is how it works in N.J.

I am not trying to put anyone down, I just want to make sure everyone knows how to safely recover a vehicle. If you put a strap on a chain that is as bad or much worse because the strap builds energy and if the chain snaps then whatever you have on the chain will not hold it.
