Well Brad, Welcome to the Outfit!
It really depends on what you need to carry with you when heading out to repair equipment. You also need to consider what you are working on. It is trucks and logging trailers or are you working on forestry machines and equipment?
Having a 5-Ton M931a2...

NAPA and other places still sell sheets of gasket material. It takes a little effort, but a razor blade and some time will turn that roll of material into usable gaskets. Several of the guys have even used TM book covers as gasket material when there was nothing else.
That storage box might...

Congratulations on your New-To-You truck and Welcome to the Outfit!
I do have to say that I'm not from around there.
All the same you are now part of a Nationwide - no - make that Worldwide group of folks.
We are picture hounds so snap a few shots of your new toy!

Don't think that the commercial policy means that you have to be "tagged commercial". It seems to be a common thing with insurance companies and larger trucks to be on a commercial policy.
DEFINITELY SHOP AROUND. Your personal vehicle insurer could be your guy. On the other hand, if you...

I was thinking about the plug where you check oil level in the differentials.
Be careful. If it has built enough pressure to push oil out through the seals - just a couple of pounds - that fill plug could pop you between the eyes if you loosen it quickly enough.

Whatever pulls it up the hill either needs to have air or you need the ability to "CAGE" the brakes. Chances are that the wrecker driver will have glad hands on the back of the wrecker that will attach to the two glad hands in front of your M1070.
And @simp5782 already offered up that...

Opinions are like parts that everyone has one of... Sometimes they are valuable. Other times not so much.
So, here is mine: Think about it. The truck you have. It has (had) a purpose. Going Fast just isn't part of that purpose. The US Army and the US Marine Corps - just guessing here -...

I don't think you have done anything that would over-service those differentials. If you are seeping fluid though - I would look at the cheap fix first.
What about the axle vents? Have they been looked at? Over on the east coast and down south, we have "dirt daubers" and other flying bugs...

My guess was that bolting the cab to the frame (edit: with solid blocks of aluminum in place of bushings) would twist doors , possibly pop out glass (hopefully not since they are in rubber casing - but still possible) and other things of similar nature (fuse board, etc).
Still would...

Air hacksaw works fine - so long as you don't buy Harbor Freight saw blades. Long ago, back before they had stores and everything shipped in from Commiefornia I bought some green blades. Can't remember how many but it was a BUNCH of them for almost nothing. Plugged one into my air hacksaw...

The ONLY reason that I was hell bent on having the real bushings when I did my replacement was my age. I figured I would do the job once at 62 and whomever has the truck when I am gone gets to deal with it the second time around.

Hi Dave and Welcome to the Outfit!
I think the rules might require that you have posted a few times before you have the ability to add a listing in the Classified Section. The goal is to keep out the spammers and scammers.
If you wanted to post a few pictures of what you have here - and...

I will be really interested to see what the guys have to say about aluminum @Guruman .
When I replaced my dried out, badly cracked (but still whole) cab bushings - there was a noticeable improvement in how my M1088 "felt" bouncing down the road. My M1089 that had one bushing completely...

Just fishing... It looks to me like the steering knuckle boots are what is leaking. You should be able to confirm that by smell. If it is gear oil, it should have a sulfur smell. You don't want that to be leaking out (obviously). If it is grease in the knuckles, that isn't good but if it...

Well... I guess the good news is that they fixed your truck. Insurance should fix things but sometimes it ends up costing you in the end. Stay on top of your insurance records - making sure that they don't penalize you for some "nit-wit" driver that ran into you!
The repairs look good so far.

Dang. Yessir, seems "similar but different" and a PS2 Connector and the connections are definitely backward to use those parts.
Sorry. I was hopeful.
My guess is that part of the MILTOPE folks made it the way they did intentionally. All parts would have to come from them is my guess.
