    CARC Sub over faded CARC

. Matt, it might be possible to project the outlines of the truck from the TM onto your truck with an old school "overhead projector" so you could draw out the lines with chalk. It would make the shapes a lot easier than free-handing them.

    CARC Sub over faded CARC

. With you 100% Tomorrow is why we have big green trucks... Library just across the big road is hosting a Touch A Truck event. Got a police station for a neighbor and some oak trees to park under. Temperature tomorrow is 101, so I don't know what kind of turnout there will be. I am...

    CARC Sub over faded CARC

. Well, that IS interesting... I started looking and stumbled across what you need to know. 26. PATTERN DESIGNS See Figure 31, for example of the CPP for the M113A1, Personnel Carrier. Within each area is a number that stands for the color to be painted. There are five views of the vehicle...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

. I understand completely! No good deed goes unpunished  .

    CARC Sub over faded CARC

. There is a TM for that  TB-43-0209 Paint, Color, Marking, Camouflage is attached below. Page 74 is just for you! I have to vote YES for RAPCO paints as well. My M936 has consumed two cases of "Rattlecan" paint over the past few years. Most of mine has been repairing rust patches...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

. Not sure that 60# would have worked with no weight in the back and with the back end up in the air. Sometimes that stuff just seems to happen because of where you needed to be... The CTIS book says that Mud and Snow setting would be 25# and "Emergency" pressure could be 12psi. Drive back...

    DIY PTO Control Lever

. Nice on the linkage. Glad you got it built for the weekend! It may be worth rounding those sharp corners on your lever. On the PTO, there may be different versions with High and Low speeds. The only ones I have seen on old Deuces were in and out at one speed. Logically, paying out cable...

    Hard warm starts

. First and Cheapest thing to look at would be fuel filters. Even if they were changed recently, maybe "something you fed your truck" has gummed up the filters?

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

. That's great news! Being a card carrying, dues paying member should create a little more money for sure. AND there is an expectation of better quality folks that you will be associated with as well. That job hauling new Peterbuilt's should cause you to have a First Class tractor to pull...

    Fuel system drawing a vacuum

. So... Back to zero and the least expensive and simplest way to try something new. What if you had a fuel can and some brand new hose out to the truck and a second hose back to the fuel can? It only needs to run for 10 of 15 minutes to be better than what you have now if I remember correctly?

    M1078 LMTV Fix-up Thread

. Apparently not. Here is some information. If you can't find it, PM me and I will email it to you. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/lmtv-fmtv-quick-parts-reference-spreadsheet-not-accessible.209177/

    power loss maybe...multiple questions...

. One of the things we haven't talked about... Where are you in Alaska? What is the altitude where you are driving? Maybe that has something to do with the problem.

Using a MEP generator to charge your EV?

. Is that $7.80 per liter? Making it almost $15 a gallon?

    M1078 LMTV Fix-up Thread

. You have been around the block a few times @CallMeColt so the info below might be useful to others that happen to read this thread later... Guessing you already know how to use Cage Bolts to keep from killing yourself. The LMTV Parts Spreadsheet has part numbers for replacement chambers - but...

    Fuel Type

. Don't know where you are going to get it from, but JP8 is "the good stuff". You won't need any fuel additives.

    1997 LMTV Journey

. Looks good and it almost appears to be "factory".

    Fuel system drawing a vacuum

. Adam, I don't have one and the one I did have was gas and not diesel... On my gas version, there was a black plastic "bottle" down low on the passenger side of the truck. It was for fuel vapor control (sorry, I can't remember the real name for it). It had a pair of hoses that ran to the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

. Well @Mainsail , that time was well spent for sure. It isn't cool or sexy, but drippy fuel hoses these days could cost you dollars on every trip with $10.00 fuel. Not to mention the possibility of a fire...

    New Member

. I dunno, but for some reason or another - I just really like the "look" of that truck. The wake up call mounted on the left fender would most likely just blow a Prius off the road

    MEP-006A Generator issue

. Nobody wants to hear this but have you tried the TM's (Technical Manuals) for your new GenSet? Couple of pictures would be good for anything obvious.
