Yessir. I believe you are right @patracy .
I have tried.
Really tried hard, but so far I have not managed - with my coding skills - to engage the ball peen hammer device and make it reach out and rap someone between the eyes to get their attention. Maybe the device driver isn't coded...

Some of the 915's were Freightliners.
I have seen a few cabs on the auction block.
Daimler has been outsourcing stuff to Mexico for a while - mostly what they call "straight trucks" (24 foot box etc). The plant up in Cleveland, North Carolina builds those same trucks here in The States...

That starter button fix will work only on a nice spring afternoon.
The time it won't work will be when it is hot and muggy and about a thousand mosquitoes are trying to get up your nose or in your ears. Chances are it will be raining too - and you parked in the dirt - that has turned to...

Yessir! It's called a "love tap". If there is a dead spot on the armature inside the starter, it might take two people. One (that you trust with your life) turning the key and you under the truck with about a three pound hammer... One swift "whack" with the hammer on the starter body (the...

How about this @papabear ?
Got another two vehicles added!!
WE all know where the competition thread lives, but I wonder if our newer members know about this monthly competition? Maybe @patracy has some sort of idea on how to promote this event?
.
Did a quick search and found that there is a "straight truck" with a 25ft bed, a 390 inch wheel base, a REAL TRANSMISSION (18 speed), and a Detroit in-line 6 pushing it all down the highway. Has a 28ft Gin Pole setup and nice hydraulic winches too.

That is one tough looking truck!
The skid plate at the front axle would let it ride right up over the top of whatever was sitting in the middle of the road for sure.
.
Looking good!! Mighty Fine!
I remember seeing all that space back early in your build process (now that you reminded us with pictures).
Heck of a good idea to have that space available for sure!
Even better that clearance under the tank is NOT going to be a problem.
.
Silly question... Have you tried just using the hand jack?
To see what happens and what you can hear?
Much quieter that way than with the air powered jack...
That also eliminates a possible air related problem.

Keep talking to the guy if your time table changes.
He is going "above and beyond" what is normal - so be sure you stay in contact with him.
It is really great that he is willing to be helpful!

Might be worth a look at the rules. There are some height restrictions on how high off the ground lights are required to be.
On the other hand, at least around here - I see all kinds of placement and the local PD doesn't even seem to enforce red light violations. Still, if you happen to be...

If you want to air up the truck - in search of leaks for example - the drivers front glad hand will "charge" the air system with house air. Regulate your pressure down to below 120# just in case you have your shop compressor set higher than that...
.
It might be some "crud" that made it out of the tank and into the supply lines. It could be gummy from something nasty in the air tanks or from the air dryer. Might be that the more you use it, the better it gets... It might also be good to add a few drops of Marvel Mystery Oil in the line...
.
That is AMAZING! Looks like a perfect fit like you suggested in an earlier post. The top is fine, so what about under the truck? What do you have for clearances down below? No driveshaft or axle flex problems - Right? I mean with all the measuring and fitting that you have done, the...
.
I didn't know that there was a lunette ring lock... I use a short heavy piece of chain wrapped several times around the ring and secured with a heavy padlock. It isn't a perfect solution against a cut-off wheel and a battery powered grinder. It does keep the honest people honest though...

For a one mile trip - it should be safe to tow without removing the driveshafts. Will need to either have a truck that can supply air for the brake system - or cage the rear brakes.
@98G might want to comment as well.
.
I may be waving the white flag unnecessarily - but you mentioned "Push Style Fittings"? That sounds to me like air line fittings. The FL3 should be a rubber hose that is generally "Inverted Flair" where the steel line connects to it. The flexible hose should not be plastic with push...
.
You may want to consider a cab jack kit. Part #300140
Might get no help at all, but the MANUFACTURER is SPX Fluid Power
