I would suggest that you keep the front glad hands. If the truck ever breaks down, even regular commercial wreckers can hook up to those connectors. Having them also releases your brakes (the spring brakes) so the wrecker driver doesn't have to crawl under your truck to "cage the brakes"...

Welcome to the outfit!
A little rust gives it character until you can decide what needs to be done next... Be sure to grab the TM's for your truck. Finding the way to crank the truck without smoking your glowplugs would be good. Knowing how the charging system will be useful too. It looks...

It seems that more and more we have become a throw-away society. Used to be that there were several radiator shops here in town. Now I think there are two. And we are a pretty big town...

These are M1083 Series 5-Ton 6x6 trucks. The series covers your M1089 too with specifics. TM-9-2320-366-10-2 on or about Page 47 has Crane Operations. TM-9-2320-366-20-1 on or about Page 1710 are Electrical Drawings.

First Class Plan @NDT !
Everybody just needs to remember these MV's really are trucks - not boats. Your rule about no water above the top of the tires is pretty much spot-on. Staying at that water level (or less) will also allow a measure of safety if the truck finds a hole or a rut or a...

Let's Go Brandon!
Hmmm. Part that seems a little difficult is that Commiefornia already has a problem keeping the lights and air conditioning on. Wonder how these "wizards of green" plan to charge the battery powered car? Maybe turn off the lights and air?

Heck of a neat idea!
Especially with smooth ground under you.
That $600 was a good investment in your truck (and your happiness too!). Chances are that you won't have to do anything to that part of the truck again - other than a little grease from time to time.

I went today to fill up and the machine turned off at $75 for 13.395 Gallons. Charlotte NC $5.59 for a gallon. When the pump turned off at the gas station, it wouldn't accept another card swipe to pump another $75...

I thought maybe I was a weirdo... I have always used a small metal can to capture the brake fluid when bleeding brakes. Then I would pour it through a paint strainer back into a can marked USED. I am somewhat meticulous on being clean when bleeding brakes - so I know I am not pouring dirt...

Nice! I really like the trucks. There is definitely something to be said for securing a load properly. I am sure there are better or more inclusive guides but the attached PDF is for securing machine shop equipment. There must be one for trailers and trucks...

I would agree with you @nextalcupfan , but early on in my green truck career I let things sit around for several months. Then I had to spend weeks getting my little green babies to wake up and drive. I don't have any desire to help fund Go Brandon's crazy ideas - but I crank what I have and...

So - using just plain old common sense and logic @Awesomeness - I need to call BS on that thought. The trucking industry doesn't generally spend money on air dams and wind directors. If they did, they would have "field tests" done and then a group of ten (maybe) trucks outfitted with these...

The tanks look nice and ready for plumbing.
That engine stand is a good plan.
Everything tucked in tight and bolted in place...
If you are going to drive somewhere, a longer piece of steel bolted through your already existing bolt holes will make it more stable. Especially if you have to...
