She looks really good to me! Nice looking paint too.
Grab more pix when you can so the rest of us can drool over your new-to-you truck!
Good to hear about a good experience.

Everybody has an opinion... Having never seen a brand new HMMWV brake caliper, I would expect it to be perfectly smooth on the entire surface. I wouldn't expect to see a lip like that. The other logical part is that I would imagine you (the previous owner) would have replaced pads several...

Thanks for the work you are doing @TMOMW
I would expect more from the MVPA than what is detailed in Item #3. Wonder if the owner of that FB page has his or her personal axe to grind? Maybe with no supervision from the leadership of the National organization possibly?

If you decide to buy a Duck Bill Hammer...
Get yourself a bottle and drill a hole in the cap. Maybe a 64oz plastic drink bottle and mix yourself some soapy water.
Maybe consider Johnson's No More Tears" for the soap because the first time you hit and miss and the soap flies up in your eyes...

I am going to make it to one of these dang Rally's before I die... Seems that every time I get one lined up, something goes haywire and I end up missing it. Last time my eye was swollen shut because of a bee sting. This time, Son #2 had his 1 year old's birthday party on Saturday - and the...

I'm not sure that @chucky used a shovel to pop the tire bead off the rim. I think he was talking about using a shovel to ease the rim and tire on and off the hub. Might be wrong.
Only thing I have seen to pop a bead off a rim is the hammer made for that job. Heck, I even saw a YouTube...

There is another piece of government paper that DOES specify American Made tied to things like steel and vehicles and small arms.
The Buy American Act (BAA) of 1933
It requires the federal government to buy American–made iron, steel, and manufactured goods wherever possible. According to the...

Keep waiting... Sad but true - and the government operates at a different speed than the rest of the world... It might be worth making a phone call to be sure that you have everything properly filed and possibly ask "where you are" in line.

Welcome to the Outfit! Welcome to the hobby too. There are quite a few folks here with their "Flusies" that earn living with them.
Be sure to check out the TM section for maintenance and parts books.
We are a bunch of picture hounds, so when you get your New-To-You truck be sure to post...
.
Just be careful... The state DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) has hammered a few owners with a MISMATCHED Serial Numbers. The DMV could have one number. The Insurance Company could have another number - and they don't match - then you get the nasty letter from the state. They are NOT...

Sure would be nice if you end up with another running truck... Amazing how a little research here on the forums or in the TM's will "flip a switch" in your brain!

Dads have seen more and done more things...
He might be the smartest guy you will ever know too.
There is real value to broke down in the yard at home.
Especially when compared to broke and on the side of the road.
One way you gotta find a solution now. The other way it can be done over...

Welcome to the Outfit!
Congratulations on you New-To-You truck too. Time spent checking fluids will be well spent for sure. A second driver following you with tools and fluids sure will be nice if something goes wrong. Spending a little time reading through the Technical Manuals (the -10...

Got a pretty good idea that the Board Of Education (Paddle) in public schools and the switch or something similar at home has a lot to do with how most of us were raised. I don't think I am any worse off for the wear because of it either!
.
Well... At least South Korea has some of our trucks there.
Not exactly OEM, but they might be good quality. New rubber will be the key to happiness and the safety bar was a major topic of discussion in these forums. A definite plus if the rubber turns loose later.
