Back in the 1980's I drove an Astro95 (twin screw) with air assist stearing. It was a dream to drive and if you had to back into a "crank it around the corner" backing into a loading dock. It had an extra pair of tanks up behind the 5th Wheel platform so it never ran out of air either.

Wow. I guess having a pair (or two or three) sets of coveralls in a zip-lock bag just in case you ever need to get back in the cab of your MV.
The question that I always have is - WHY drivers don't stop - rather than keep churning and burning until the axles are sitting on the ground or...

For liability reasons - you might want to spend the bucks to buy a "factory" unmodified tow bar.
AND buy and use the chains that need to be attached on the towing truck and recovered vehicle...

Pretty amazing that they even rolled from their yard to yours for a single dead president.
I love the chrome and flashing lights and strobes and gold metal flake and pinstripes, but I don't think they even crank their rotators - much less engaging the PTO on our local large wreckers for...

Find a local "joint and clutch" company in your area. There are folks in places like that who balance driveshafts for a living. If you have a M107X or 108X Stewart and Stevenson truck, that will be one of the cheapest investments you will ever make in yourself and your new-to-you truck. No...

I think somewhere you stated that the 1500 /1800 RPM engine speed was something you were told? If not, that is a requirement. Running at idle speed for example will end up "smoking" your Allison transmission. Might be that it is written down in the TM, but I have seen that number in writing...

So I hate not to be able to contribute more, but I will definitely be interested to see what happens.
@Csm Davis may have more information about the rotation motor.
Past experience and lots of wreckers at his place

Heat - there in Montana in particular - must be really nice this time of the year! Suprising that the cables aren't seized up too. It might be worth a little time with some WD40 or similar on those cables so you don't have to work those cast pot metal levers too hard...

Most of us know nothing about it and how the rotation motor works on the M936. Might even be all of us for all I really know. The TM's show nothing but the shape of the motor and all the tech info is that you refer the problem to the next level of maintenance. Apparently those folks and...

Really? I thought it was pretty darn neat. The interior could indeed be erbrechen compared to @chucky 's truck for example. I like the dark glossy wood...

Nice!
A wife that listens to what you say when you are telling her about your truck repairs... Hard to ask for more than that - and then she buys you truck parts too!! Better hang onto her for sure :)
.
And when I saw this question, I had no decent answer of offer up... Noticed though that you appeared new to the group. Also seems that maybe you have more trucks to play with than the rest of us.
So, better late than never... Officially we Welcome you to the Outfit!
Glad the guys...
