In a perfect world, there are only two possibilities:
1. You are introducing air through the pressurized bleeder system
2. The first point in the system is sucking air (who knows why) and is pushing it through the system.
If you go to the far end of the system, open the valve until it quits...
.
AND, if pressure in the tank is a possibility (and it shouldn't be) you could pressurize the fuel tank. Air compressor, a blow gun, and a few rags to keep the air in.
PURE LOGIC though says that if you added a check valve to your fuel line AND if you have something that is pushing fuel...

Yes Sir... Prop their feet on the dash and of by freak chance the airbag goes off, there will be a pair of broken legs or ankles (or both).
Years have gone by, but teaching guys how to work on trucks (Old MV's") and getting their attention was always difficult. They would stick a finger...

Gotta light a candle to be able to see the lights
Still, I love that truck!
Really Neat....
Long years ago, I had an old '56 VW that was 6v.
A flashlight would put out more light!
.
So very cool! I would love to have a halftrack.
Cranks, Runs, Stops, Lights. Except for paint, what more could a body ask for!?
That might even be really near the very top of my list.
Would love to have a M4 High Speed Tractor too...
My hospital trip caused "deviation from the filed...

Pretty amazing how about 3x the amount of hydraulic fluid in a thin sheetmetal tank keeps the fluid temp down. My M-936 has no fans, engine runs at 1500rpm and a hundred gallons of hydraulic oil. It will run all day and not be much warmer than the air surrounding it.
.
I like it!
Most of those are tried and really true.
A friend of mine recently retired - and he swears he is working harder than when he punched a time clock...

Another idea (won't be cheap) is a local CAT Dealer. Their repair shop could repair whatever the 3116 or 3216 might have wrong with it - and there will most likely be somebody that works in a shop like that who works on charging systems.
Sounds like your goal is to use the truck for its...

No sir. Pump is under the truck amidship more or less. The RR passenger side is the valve body that operates the rear winch. The whine could be where one of the valves is partially engaged with the switch on the side of the truck by those two handles. There will be sound there - but it...
.
Nice!
Glad to hear that you have the pump moving fluid and that it is all nice and clean. IMPORTANT THING to know is that the engine RPM according to the book needs to be set to 1800rpm to avoid burning up that Allison Transmission.
As far as a gauge is concerned, remember that you are...

Hi Owen and Merry Christmas to you and family as well!
Yes Sir! The calendar blocks are ready. The trucks for the first eleven months are ready. I am waiting for December voting to conclude. I need to think about a way - without slighting anybody - to make it work a month earlier... Have...

Trucks and Track Hoes and other things with a Hydraulic Radiator and fan may not cause the fan to turn on. Especially in the colder weather. You won't be able to miss it the first time the fans turn on! It will sound like the vehicle is going to explode... (or it sounded that way to me the...

Hi Owen!
Well, my words of wisdom when it comes to driving green stuff is "I may be slow, but I am ahead of you.".
I do my very best to pull over or move over to let others pass so I don't look like I am leading a parade. On the other hand, I think if you want to bypass the FDC it might...

Ya know, we all have that much fun sometimes. Working outside in the wind and rain (I try to avoid it when I can!) will slow a guy down... Always best to have a garage with a concrete floor and a lift and a - and a - and a. Maybe one day. Maybe not.
All in all, if the project can wait...

I like the lights! That would definitely be a nice upgrade and I guess from my navy years - a red light would be just fine by me!
The bed looks pretty amazing after 3 years of wear and use.

I too have a fluke meter and no idea how to measure amp hours.
Also have a Fluke LAN Meter that cost about 25k when I bought it. It reads like a TDR when you want to measure fiber or copper on Ethernet or Token Rink or Coax or Twinax. Half of those things most people don't know a thing...
