Also check the probes to see if they are 1X, 10X or something else.
A 10X probe only passes 10% of the voltage to the scopes input.
Some scopes automatically detect which X factor the probes are and auto adjust the scaling accordingly.
Other scopes don't automatically detect the probe type and...

There is an explanation of how the Interruptor works. It one of the last posts.
The convenience outlet are not wired into K1. They are fed separately.
Here is a description of the latching circuit I did a while back...
It's a latching circuit created by K1, S5, CR3 & K8.
After the engine starts and oil pressure is up K20 closes and K1 terminal X has 24 volts supplied...
From my GLA experience you have to have items on your Watchlist in order to see what they've actually sold for.
Need to go to Closed Watchlist on GLA to see what they've sold for.
I followed a bunch of them coming out of GA recently. They sold for about $600-700 on average on GovPlanet.
37 of...
Marty,
I appreciate the offer.
The schematic is finalized and I already generate the needed Gerber files to get them fab'd by a PWB fab house.
Have had great results with the house I use. Quick turn times, great quality and reasonable prices.
If I can help you with your 831 woes just let me...
If the meter reads 120 then the switch is in the wrong position.
If you haven't already you ought to download a copy of TM 9-6115-639-13&P.
It covers that and everything else about running the 831A.

Ted - Thank you for the improvement suggestion.
I too noticed the font was a bit small too.
I revised the design and incorporated a larger font size for the terminal lettering. Those new PWB's just arrived this weekend.
At the same time I ordered all the parts to build the next batch...
See post #10 for a pic of my solution for my leaking cap.
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?162006-MEP-803A-Finally-scored-one-and-had-a-question&highlight=bolt
My 802 had a leak in that area when I got it. There was a rubber cap on an unused nipple on the water pump. It had dried, cracked and was weeping. Others have had the same issue with the rubber caps leaking. Could be the cap leaking if it isn't the plug pointed out in the post above.
Nice!
Have been looking for a set with the block heater to come to auction nearby.
Hopefully this storm won't clobber "us" too hard. 12-18 expected here.
Have my sets ready to run, 13 Kw battery bank charged and 2 drums of treated diesel at the ready. Bring it on!
All is normal.
It will show discharging when on prime or preheat since the engine isn't running and you're drawing current from the batteries then. Discharging.
Once you start it the batteries start to re-charge. Charging.
After a short time of running the batteries are fully charged and the...
Nice looking genset and trailer!
Make sure it has the "Fuse Mod". See https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?169771-Military-MEP-generator-reset-information For the link to the document containing the Fuse Mod info.
Normally for the frequency to be all over the place the engine RPM would have to be wildly changing. I assume it's steady.
The output waveform from the generator may be distorted and causing the electricians meter reading to jump around.
I'd suggest using an oscilloscope and looking at the...
I just check my two 831's and the inverter housing is bonded to the generator skid & frame.
It wouldn't make sense for the inverter housing to float since this could create a shock hazard to anyone servicing the set.
Current should not be flowing between the gensets frame and the inverter...
