I wasn't trying to disparage anyone. I'm really curious ! He has valid points just like anyone. I just wanted to know what framework he is coming from. That's what I was trying to find out earlier. Civil engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer. All will be coming from a different...
The seals should be able to withstand 2.5 - 3.0 psi for such a short period so I'm not worried on that end. I didn't want to complicate this system to much so no ball valve either.
I can see the house or at least where it is from your picture.
You also could have bad brushes in the starter motor. If there too worn down they start tearing into the commutator . If you just jump start the starter, look at the brushes by removing that round clamp at the end of the starter. If they shot out sparks while turning then they should be replaced...
So there is coolant lost then, I didn't know that. Your heads could be cracked then. Even NOS stuff has been known to be faulty. But you get low compression across the board and your leak down test showed "all" cylinders leaking correct ? There is something not aligning up correctly then. Some...
First the only parts that are interchangeable are the clutch plates like I mentioned earlier. Nothing else fits. To make the pump work better there are new bushings with a poly coating that last real will, also harder gears you can buy. As far as a kit goes I have never used one. I always drill...
At this point I will just take a feed line off one of the batteries to power a simple relay that will feed the regulator until the crank switch is off.
I had already considered all that. There are just too many functions that the A1 relay controls. So I plan to add a relay that will take the control currant from the engine sensors to shut-off the fuel control solenoid. If I could just figure out where this feedback problem is I could eliminate...
Thanks for the spreadsheet Aaron ! I didn't know that existed. I'm actually almost in Duvall WA so the nearest place is the Grange in Issaquah. Just went there this morning and got 10 gallons, plus the nearest Krispy Kreme place is there too ! So of course I had to buy some donuts !
The Grange...
Actually. I thought about adding another solenoid valve to close-off the regulator but I figured you will always be adjusting the regulator since atmospheric conditions will always be in flux from day to day, or due to elevation.
Well then give use some pictures and a statement of how it's done. You have me curious now. Actually I'm all in favor of a good and cheap way of doing things so long as it really works reliably .
Though I do question your 99% . I have found out doing tranny rebuilding now for 40 years that the...
Wildchild I feel your pain ! When a standard rebuild goes south like that it really challenges your resolution. I had a diesel engine that ran great but used coolant. You could pressure test it and it would not leak down. Found out it only leaked when the heads got hot. Had to "Magna-Flux" the...
