"ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE"!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the Green Iron Addiction support group.:cookoo:
You have fallen in with a bad lot and your social and financial future is in peril.
There are several of us in the NE Alabama area.
You are welcome to join us anytime we have a get...
I have been to Memphis Equipment in Memphis and they have an impressive facility.....they make a lot of money refurbing
military vehicles for the construction industry and overseas sales.
They do have a lot of parts that are hard to find and, I assume, a big overhead. I ordered some deuce front...
I'll be the first to say Welcome to the Green Iron Loony Bin.:cookoo:
You can find much info by using the search feature although plenty of folks will gladly answer your questions.
There is a reason that the M900 series trucks had a jib crane mounted on them and came with a chain hoist as Basic Issue Items (BII).
That is also why later HEMMT's and HETT's had Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS).
Wrestling those big tires and rims around is not for the faint of heart...
Well I have typed my fingers to the bone trying to find the instructions for engaging and operating the boom on the 816 Wrecker. Search does not like me.
If someone can point me to the right spot I would appreciated it.
The guy that bought it has the rebuilt engine installed and needs to know...
If you decide to buy through GL your closest purchase points will be either Fort Campbell, KY, or Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville, AL. There are members that will help you do a recovery and get your new toy home.
If you want to go with a private seller there are a lot of green iron pimps on...

I have never been a fan of "floating" gears (shifting without a clutch)....I was a long haul trucker for many years and I saw no reason to do it...clutching is not that difficult.
A lot of mechanics will tell you that it is not good for the driveline if you scratch the gears a lot while doing it.
Welcome to the Green Iron Loony bin.:cookoo:
Single and financially sound.....you are a GL dream come true.
Already bitten by the Green Iron Bug.
You are doomed!!!!
"Abandon hope all ye who enter here".
Make plans to be at the GA Rally in Oct. You will be in bad company and it is cheaper...
I would suspect a bad connection or ground somewhere.....a deuce does not have a resettable circuit breaker.
Before you do anything take the terminals off the batteries and charge both of them to an equal voltage.
Your batteries may not be charging....check the alternator too.
I have been driving deuces since the early 70's....splitting gives you two extra gears loaded or empty...you will acceleate faster
by splitting and cause less wear and tear on the driveline.
Splitting is an aquired skill and should be practiced when empty and used all the time when loaded or...
The multi-fuel will actally run on straight gasoline but it is an "emergency fuel" only.
Diesel gets its heat from the oil in it...it burns a lot hotter than gas but slower.
You get more work out of diesel than gas.
I put gas in my "special blend" to thin out all the other crap I am...
