Well.....I'll be the second to say welcome to the site and also to point you to the "SEARCH" feature.
Lots of good threads on bobbing and mods.....don't expect too much performance out of the old multi-fuel...it is built for dependability and operating under extreme conditions on fuel that...
I have a little gal at the DMV that inspects all my trucks.....never had a hassle tagging anything.
Usually when a gooberment employee is discovered doing a great job and actually helping people they are promoted to where they become inefficent and are no longer able to acutally help anyone.
If these trucks are in Southern Mississippi avoid them like the plague.
There are some just south of Camp Sheby, MS that have been sitting there for at least 10 years or better and they are FUBAR......DO NOT BUY without a personal inspection.
Word has it that they were all tied up in a legal...
Upgrade to the new dual master cylinder and use disc brakes on each axle.....I think a SS member posted (may have been on the old forum) a list of parts to do the swap...used off the shelf parts. I think he used parts off of a Ford F-450 or 650.
If that won't stop it you got too much speed or...
That is one of the reasons I avoid A3's like a bad stomach virus.
As long as the vehicle met the standards in the year of manufacture we will prob be ok.
That is why you can still get antique vehicles without seatbelts, turn signals, etc., registered and tagged here.
In most cases it depends on the number of people GL has on site (if it is an unmanned site you are really limited) and how much time and effort they can devote to you.
Some sites only allow visual inspections...others will assist you in trying to start vehicles. Most will not allow you to move...
I'm not flipping yet.
This may be much ado about nothing.
None of my deuces have a title.
Any vehicle built before 1976 can be registered and tagged with just a bill of sale.
If fact, you can not get a title on a vehicle that old unless you already have a title.
We also have no...
In AL you don't need a title for a single axle trailer.....a bill of sale will get you a tag.
Since you are in GA you can check with the local DMV and see what they say.
If you push it off a mountain in neutral and get a good tailwind you might get 4 mpg.....but who cares.....I never bought any MV for fuel milage...I bought them for fun and to work them like a rented mule.
You can cut fuel cost by running some veggie in it on long trips.....burn it out before...
I agree with doing proper PMCS on your vehicle...but even with all that there is the Murphy Factor.....anything that can go wrong will...usually at the worst possible moment:shock:.
Instant brake failure (pedal goes to the floor with a baaaaad THUMP sound) is very rare in a deuce...if you are...
Does it have a white flag attached?????roflrofl
Sorry.....I am comedy impaired.
Welcome to the site.
I know as much about Mogs as I do about Chinese algebra. Maybe some of the Mog owners will chime in.
Mogs and the FL rally go hand in hand.
It is very difficult to find new pistons for that engine (as me how I know).....if the other pistons and liners are good I would pull them and save. Also the heads and injectors may have value if you find someone rebuilding a 250.
Pulling the liners can be a real pain if you don't have the right...
That is how I used to load/unload the S280 shelter out of the back of my deuce.
My buddy had a roll back and only charged me 40 bucks each time.
Easy, and if the driver knows what he is doing he can set the box exactly where you want it.
I would think you could use a heavy duty electric solonoid.....the manual lever actuates the LOW/HIGH via a straight shaft that goes into the TF case.....should be an easy install if you can find one that will slide the shaft in and out.
I have been considering the same thing for my deuce.
Just as a mental exercise how hard would it be to set up a home brew refinery to recylcle some of that crude oil that would otherwise end up being burned at a cement factory for heat (I used to work for a company that recycled HAZ Waste into fuel for that purpose).
It would have to be done...
How long do you have to get them out????
I will be out of school after Tues and will be doing recoveries again......already have a gig for next Thurs.
If they can be driven I can bring them to my place and hold for you to pick up.
If you want them delivered to Cartersville you might...
