Let me know if you can find a kit in BCS. My understanding is that Barrman and I will cross paths here in Hou on Sunday, and I can send a kit back with him. Houston Truck Parts has them here. They are open Sat.
For sure it's the Bendix AD-2 air dryer. See the M916 Tech Tips page 17 for my post on the problem. There is a $10 kit that fixes the sneeze valve and all is well. When the valve weeps, it keeps the air compressor from building full air. Aftermarket kit is BEPCO 287053
Looks like the display was just set up. Were these moved from APG? That is the only gov facility I know of that has been restoring this kind of equipment.
The switch is the changeover switch from generator A to B when one of them needs to be serviced. I think yours is from the 10 kW sets, these were mounted in 1.5 ton trailers.
Can you tell us what the nomenclature on the door reads or take a pic. That A/C unit is not one of the better ones. Nice to see a shelter that hasn't been gutted and made into a hazmat storage locker. But to be desirable it will need to house an interesting radio set.
I would be more concerned about noise. I personally would not put a newborn in a 1009 due to this concern. Then again the baby may find the drone of the 6.2 soothing, what do I know.
nhs275, thanks for posting. Looks like you have your work cut out for you. At least you don't have to find some kind of rare wrecker boom or body for it. That cab will be quite a project to fix. Keep us posted on the progress.
Other posts are correct, the rims are early M34 combat rims. I have 2 on the front of my M275A2. I would love to buy 4 more from you. PM me if you are interested in selling them.
As far as worth, it depends: there is "as is" worth, worth if verified not bent/pitted and no egg shaped lug...
Not an air line, an oil line. Plumb it to the bottom of the t-case. It draws oil when the PTO is turning to prevent bearing damage. You can probably skip this if all you are driving is a rear winch. Big shaft with bearings is behind the seat like you said. There are holes already there for it.
The DATA PLATE discusses setting the torque range, it would appear that the hex nut adjusts the pressure relief valve in the valve body such that hydraulic pressure on the motor is not allowed to exceed a value that exceeds 25,000 lbs pull on the winch.
Was hoping to add the GMTK to the OVM on my SECM but there was a SNAFU. The Chevy is supposed to carry a 5140-00-388-3416 "Top Chest" (various mfgrs, 13 W, 26 L, 15 H), but as you know these boxes are pretty lightly built these days. Not to mention non-tactical RED color. So I was hoping to...
Looks like around 15:00 he started the arduous task of hub pulling and pounding out and in 10 studs. It's what, 35 degrees in Austin area? Not best for productivity.
Not far from you is SS vendor MilitaryTrucks.com, located Liberty Hill, TX (other side of Austin) 512-818-5261. They should have parts and be able to courier them to you.
