Cucv fuel filter replacement or not?

I would have replaced it the day it was bought. Its easy and is cheap insurance. Change it before you do have a problem At the very least peace of mind. Every two years? I change mine at every oil change. Overkill I know but It makes me feel better.

How long to cool down after Short Trips...

I can't answer truck specific since I do not own a deuce. But you will still have the battery recharge issue. Short trips do not allow the battery's to get topped back off after a start. Sure it starts great and all seems ok, but if you don't drive it enough or put a charger to them, it will...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Sounds like it will handle it just fine.

    Choosing a 5-ton truck

You are correct about the ethanol. Another plus is the diesel generator will have better fuel economy. Diesel is also a lot safer to handle and easier to store (fumes). Just would need an anti-gel if it gets really cold.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Very nice and clean install! Looks plenty bright too. Not sure how high winds get there , but I couldn't have something like that open on both ends here. Really strong winds, like we can get here, can really do damage to Lightweight structures. Open both ends and it Acts like a Venturi...

    Choosing a 5-ton truck

I would recommend getting a diesel powered generator. With all that you plan to carry, having only one fuel type would be nice. Some really nice military surplus ones around. Plus you can simply siphon from trucks tank if needed.

    Trans fluid on back tailgate.

The master cylinder is brake fluid. The Hydro-boost is power steering fluid. A little fluid goes a long way. Check PS fluid and look everywhere for a leak, besides the HB Im betting the oil in floorboard and on tailgate are related.

    Trans fluid on back tailgate.

In reference to your fluid above brake pedal thread. This is might be the cause of the oil on tailgate. Any fluid running down firewall, under the hydro-boost?

Leak at top of brake pedal

It's not your master cylinder. Sounds like your Hydro-boost is going bad. That's power steering fluid your seeing. New one is due. Search old threads. I think they are rebuildable. Not sure.

    Trans fluid on back tailgate.

Not normal You have a bad leak somewhere. Losing enough fluid to drip off and get caught in the wind and end up on tailgate. Transmission or transfer case or engine or even powersteering fluid. Rear differential too Time to crawl underneath and find it. Might have to pressure wash it...

How do you load trailers on to a car trailer without GL help?

Mine are the same. They work fine.

Meet at Pops on Route 66? Arcadia, OK

Weather is forecasted to be great next weekend. Anyone up for a meet at POPs soda and burger joint? Its right off Route 66 in Arcadia, OK. Big Parking lot and can park across sideroad if needed. Next Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th? Would be nice to put faces with usernames. Was there...

    CUCV Odometer

Careful what you post. It is a Federal Felony to tamper with a vehicles odometer. Yes I know some complete speedos were swapped in these trucks. Different story admitting you ran mileage back or forward (to zero). I don't care what was done. I just wouldn't have posted about it.

Did they ever make an Armored Cab upgrade package for M939 series cabs? (I.E. M923A2)

It has nothing to do with need. "Any Civilian" can make his/her truck look as battle authentic as he/she wants. It's not a prohibitive item or illegal item to own. If you are lucky enough to find a truck or the armor parts, so be it. The Govt doesn't like it since it doesn't trust its...

How long to cool down after Short Trips...

Mine never gets above 200 and I always do a idle cool down after any trip. Maybe not a full 5 minutes every time, but at least two. Depends on how hard it worked. Was driving on Route 66 yesterday at highway speed for 45 minutes and once back at ranch did a full 5 minute cool down. Turbo...

    Adding a tach?

No clue if that one will work. You really should use a 0-4000 tach. Factory redline is 3600 and some have said theirs will go above that. Using that Tach your only guessing. ISSPRO and VDO make excellent ones.

How do you load trailers on to a car trailer without GL help?

I attach the winch to the front of trailer and trucks. Either to the tongue or tie down shackles depending on how it's pulling. I like mine to face forward. Just my personal preference. Backwards should work just as well and if you have a helper they can just man handle the tongue with their...

    Steerable Trailers?

I'll wait and use it as a last resort.
