    Power steering pump bracket

. I think there is an engineer - just one guy - who designs all the drains on radiators (most everything else too!). His job is to be sure that the bucket won't catch more than half of the fluid.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

. Still hot and muggy here and the mosquitoes are out in force! Guess you will figure out if the lights when you hook them up. OR when you make a test lead. Most LEDs are multi volt, so you might be able to test them in the garage or the house where there is air conditioning! Battery...

American Lock cargo box key ?

. We have a member here that sells military padlocks - Master Locks brand. I have purchased several sets of them and he has the ability to make them all "keyed alike". Makes it nice to have one key on the ring that opens everything MV related at my place...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

. For Sure! The heat is back and so is the humidity... It rained last night and as soon as the sun came up it was hard to breathe. Thought I was going to do some truck projects. That turned out to be Not So today! Be sure that the trailer lights are "known working" before you remove them...

My $40K wrecker (M936A1) refurbished at Memphis Equipment

. Mine might be slightly different than yours, but the gear selector moves into to neutral. The transfer case lever by your right leg has to be moved into neutral. That keeps the truck from moving. The lever beside your left hip at the back end of the cab should engage the PTO. (Mine pulls...

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

. None of my business to make parenting suggestions, but I think somebody you know who is 14 could be out there helping. Even with zero experience working on vehicles, he could start learning any time. His incentive might be to earn a little seat time behind the wheel if you can get into a...

Axle Shaft removal for towing FMTV

. The TM's call for a speed limit and maximum distance for pulling the truck without removing the drivelines. Caging the brakes is nothing more than releasing the shoes that are being held against the brake drums so your truck will roll...

    Newbie in over their head

. I get it (now). I am not a lawyer. I'm not an expert of "going around the system" either. All I can really do is use plain simple logic. As much as I hate some of our stupid rules & laws, if I don't like them and some other state "treats me better" maybe it is time to move there. It is...

. Sorry, I thought we were discussing "inspections". That is different than license plates. Years ago, there was a sticker on the windshield. Now days, it (the Inspection) is tied to the license plate. You must have a current inspection for the state to send you a new plate (or the sticker...

M35A3 Rim Restoration and Tire Swap Project (Picture-Heavy)

. I like the socket adjustment to make it fit the air pipe nut better! That sort of thing used to drive me crazy - until I started going to yard sales and buying up old boxes of tools. Found out that I didn't feel as guilty if I needed to hack up a socket or a wrench and weld or grind on it...

. Simple Awesomeness , It is another government tax. Especially here in North Carolina it is called a Safety Inspection. The short version is to see if the lights come on, blinkers work, the horn works and that the windshield wipers move. YES, there are hundreds of inspection points like...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

. I believe the 3 numbered tags are the same on the 'bulb buckets" for the truck and trailer. Should be safe to swap them and re-plug. I have purchased several tail lights and there is no "left" and a different "right" bucket.

    New member from Indiana here!

. Welcome to the site! The M35 is a heck of a truck and will keep you "head and shoulders" above the traffic. :) Might be that timing for this weekend is perfect. The Indiana Military Vehicle Preservation Association has an event at Grissom ARB Museum, 1000 W. Hoosier Blvd. (Peru, Indiana)...

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

. Nice!!! I had to run back up to the start of your post when I saw the bird nest. It just had to be Florida. And it was. That gray is sharp looking. That scaffolding was a heck of a neat idea!
