I have not done the valve on any of my 5 tons. Thinking about it I might remove the rubber line from both frame and poppet valve. Then run Synflex line from frame to new valve where ever you want to mount it. Then Synflex from shut off valve to poppet. The only problem I see is if the line from...
Sorry I don't have any pictures. The cut of switch / valve is not between the transmission and transfer case. The line you put the valve in line with is the rubber air line that comes off passenger side frame rail and supplies air to the poppett valve.
Guess it's how you define the word clutch. The Cat manual if I remember calls them clutches is all I am saying. I am thinking clutch plate single or multiple clutch packs no matter what they look like disengage engine from transmission.
Looked up an old thread so I will split the difference...
I do believe the Cat does have clutches. The clutches will disengage if you over speed the transmission and the light will come on telling you that the transmission and engine are no longer connected. When that happens we can no longer use the engine for braking.
Also if I remember the clutches...
I was just thinking military. The 920 has longer frame rails plus the drop axle that would help with braking. Problem is drop axle on the 920 is a heavy one. Maybe a used civilian triaxle dump converted to your needs or triaxle tractor. I don't know what the DOT bridge law is in Tx. There are...
Seems like it would be better to have a truck that could carry more than just the counter weights. Extra steel or tools plus cribbing. Still say M920 with winch removed and put in front of truck. Reduce the wire size so the spool could handle something like 300 feet of cable. Custom 15 /16 foot...
One side down and nailed shut with correct hardware. Not pretty because I painted the bottom and edges before install and just a little tacky but here don't need pretty just strong. The other side has been worked and Ospho sprayed so now it sits 24 hours or more till try.
No trouble really. Mine had a ton of silicone in the bolt holes that hold on the outer hub cover. Just sprayed brake clean in the bolt holes and use air to clean them out. Just funny as to how much sealer some people think it takes to seal. I used High Tack spray adhesive and just sprayed on the...
Do believe a Diesel that has had or close to it a chance to warm up and limber the oil can be taken to the governor for a no load test. You might have gotten lucky and no harm no foul.
Agreed myself I might add some kind of cleaner with clean Diesel fuel and triple dose it before I pulled injectors or worried about the IP. I would not worry about putting weight in the bed in less you have a crane handy and do it quick and fast. That motor will run fine at 2400 2500 rpm so go...
Thanks again to Kodyman got a chance today to correct the out of phase front drive shaft. Guess I got lucky no vibrations so going with balance is good and noise is gone. Maybe someone flat towed it with just removing the rear axle shafts and for the front just the front part of the drive line...
We could start the learning process by finding out how much pressure it take someone to push an egg out there Donkey, Pressure gage in the mouth should work. Any Volunteers?
Then believe the easy way to fix is a new piece of copper. Compleat with flairs or just two unions and piece of copper tubing cut out bad.
I know some say I won't be off road but the next person might or might like to. Simple fix.
Will agree here go run it and bring engine water / oil up to Temp. then see how exhaust looks when you blip or go under load to full throttle. Diesels need there heat to be up and correct.
If I have to just run in to the store or fueling up my Duramax I don't even shut down the engine.
Tough crowd this day. Talking about chickens I planted ten chickens head first in the ground and they did not grow. I then planted ten more chickens feet first but they died too. I got in contact with the U.S. Depart of AG. and they were confused too. Best thing they had to offer was just send...
