Yea A 2 and won't keep up Cat and it's over drive. Top speed just about 62 at 2100 rpm because of the 4.56 gearing 11R24.5 tires. Pulls the hills real well and I just drive 55. I thought about a gear change but since I don't drive it much I will just pay the extra fuel. I much rather have the...
My .02 don't replace you boots with leaking or older style axle seal that leaks gear oil into the boot and sits there. Don't fill you knuckle with grease that sits in the boot / knuckle and breaks down the rubber if you have cross style U joints. Don't use any boots made in China.
Yea real sick and lonely people hang around SS waiting to answer questions. Kinda like I got nothing better to do only 110 things that need to be done around my house and I am on the computer.
Yea your going to get engine oil splash in the fuel shut off cover. It get splashed around the whole IP and can get to the cover as long as it is not fuel your good.
Yes two lines coming off the poppets going to the air cylinder. The cylinder piston has two springs on both ends. Without full air pressure the spring can not be completely compressed to engage the sprag. This is what they are calling neutral.
Here is the pic of the piston with one side spring...
I never thought about locking hubs but I don't drive any 809 series more than 200 miles from home. In my case I will pay for the extra fuel and leave my set up stock. Bet if you can find them with the cost you could buy another truck. Yes you would need to do the air cutoff if you had locking...
Why would you need two valves to control forward and reverse that's the poppet valve job. Just one Deuce air switch plumed into the air supply line. You could also use a air switch from a lift axle. Just as long as the switch relieves the pressure when off.
Correct all you have to do is air...
Mine is a 2009 GMC 3500 crew cab long bed and I got the truck used with 70k miles for 27k. I had a FASS pump installed when I got it to help with keeping the CP3 with plenty of fuel. I also have used Opti-Lube since I got it. I now have 130k miles and injector balance rates are still real good...
That and google is our friend. I can hardly remember what I had for dinner last night much less in 1979. Do remember I was 26 and working offshore as the engineer 200 ton tugs and big Alco's.
No think it's the poppets valves and that might be what the TMs calls the transmission sprag air controls.
Guess the Deuce switch has the light if you wire it up for those of us that are a little forgetful.
Know you asked Ron yes the Deuce air control for the transfer case on the dash is perfect as it will dump any held air pressure. One would think if using the Deuce air switch and you wanted it on the dash then one could cap the old frame rail air line and just pick up air supply closer to the...
Thank you. Someone once said nothing will ever hit it when installed on a Deuce because of the axle. Yea might be fine if you were always going forward. Ever get pulled out of a ditch backwards. I would never put one on anything but my boat so I would not have to stand on my head in the bilge to...
