Two were flat and cracked/torn. All the others are OK. I called numerous dealers looking for these tires. In the end, a simple Google search found this vendor.
Found a great source for these hard to find tires, it is B and M Military Surplus, bandmmilitarysurplus.com, Bill fixed me up with a pair of nice mounted 14.00's and palletized and loaded motor freight for me. He is also parting several 10 tons.
Anybody have anything at Las Vegas - Nellis (M931?) needing to come to Texas? Will have a half full drop deck coming to TX in the next two weeks. Hoping to share the cost of the ride.
That is the breakover bar that fits into the lug wrench. This is commercially available from Ken-Tool. It is a straight rod, hardened, with one end crimped.
Welcome to the site. Yup they are rare, only made them in the 50's. Since the OA331 gas engine is missing, now would be a good time to drop a multifuel LD465 in it, with rear exit exhaust and muffler. You should have the 11.00-20 singles with the sought-after backspaced wheels. Good luck...
Inflate the bag, place cribbing in between the cab and frame, deflate, remove. Might be a standard OTR truck item. A lot easier than replacing the stock rubber bushings which I am faced with on my 916. They are AWOL. Thanks to wsucougarx I am all fixed up with new ones. Now comes the...
Quite a few of these transmissions have come out of DRMO lately. People are keeping them for spares in case something like what happened to you happens. Usually it is the air control manfold that gives trouble. I think you are correct that the clutch packs are burned. Since you have to pull...
Looks fine. I use two of the stud top 31's in my 931 and 915 and they crank the Cummins with no problems. The 6TL's will die on you at the worst possible moment with no warning.
Thanks for posting, M34 looking great. What are they doing with the M5 High Speed Tractor? I can see why they had it, being a FA unit, but it looks a little disassembled to be a display.
A little unusual for it to be a 1984. All the M1031's with that SECM body are 1986's and such. Since you say the generator runs, I will assume it has the 205 transfer case. Asking price is what these bring on GL.
Pics are back. I'm impressed, the repair turned out great and nobody will ever know. I think I will fish out the rusted bottom batt box I just threw in the scrap pile and fix it the same way.
This was done in a upgrade program done at depot level in the late 80's early 90's. Went away from the non-directional tires and replaced with the 11R20's like you have.
On the gas M275 tractor, the data plate claims the gross trailer weight can be 36,000 lbs. Encouraged by this, I dropped a 200 hp LDS into my M275A2 tractor years ago, hoping for a capable rig. The rig would go 55 mph at almost 45,000 GCVW, but the turbocharger was at full boost even on the...
Sorry there is no such list. The only hope of establishing "provenance" as they say is to find the army registration number under layers of paint on the hood, and then finding a WWII picture in the national archive with the same car and your general in it. Better luck winning the lottery...
