The fuel control has to move free to operate the truck. To start the truck the fuel control has to be as far forward or the 7 O'clock position before it will start. This is wide open and when it starts the governor pulls it back to idle or 5 O'clock. If the fuel control is sticky but not frozen...
Would seem that if air is a problem then it would have to be between the in tank pickup and the booster pump. How was the primary filter gasket on the bolt that holds that canister to the base?
What is your rpm when soft pedal? 1400/1500 does not seem to low for saving fuel. Was reading where someone said 1850/1900 rpm but that to me is too high for soft pedal if 2100 rpm is the governor. I lock my gears as you said if I need more braking or in town light to light also off road to keep...
On mine when the transmission is working correct if you give it part throttle it will shift early and if you put the peddle to the metal it should shift at close to 2000rpm for harder pulls. Think maybe you need to make sure the truck is road worthy then go out and drive it and see how she does...

I have been called UNUSUAL. Wonder if my M915A2 and M373A2 camper/tool/parts trailer counts. I don't want to be interviewed myself because of the witness protection program but if someone else want to do it for me.
What about the buy /sell thread. I am not going to bring anything in less there...
The best way is to check the fuel control before starting any unknown motor. There should be a fuel control check of any motor maybe twice a year just to check for any sticking. The next best way is to have a electric fuel shut off wired into the master. These two will keep your shorts clean and...
ajbird don't feel too bad as many have made the same mistake of trying to start a multi fuel Deuce motor that has sat and not checked the fuel control. By taking out two screws you could have check the fuel control for moving free. No need to do anything else and it takes maybe five minutes. So...
Right where you said it should be but covered up flush with old grease and two coats of paint. Passenger side between the two gussets. Got it cleaned out and it's taking grease. Yea seems like it would be easer with two people. Tanks
Yep right where one of the TM's said it was. I checked there and don't see it or where it might have been broken off. Will scrape off some paint and see if it is broken off and hidden. Send me a pm with you address. Thanks
I will send the first person in the lower 48 states five bucks that takes a pick of the turntable grease fitting on there 816.
Don't know what I did by putting oil in the ring bolt hole but she is working and not acting like she is under strain.
I took off the back deck plate and also look again under the truck but no grease fitting. Yesterday I took out the 1/2 Allen head and tried to add some oil in the hole. It did not take much. This morning I removed the bolt and the oil was down from where it was. Added more oil and worked the...
No I have had this on for about 6 years. She has been sitting for at least 2 years. No broken teeth and nothing in the gears. There is a rear deck plate and a forward deck plate that come off easy. Today I am going to remove them and see if I can find the grease fittings. Thanks
