The trailer will carry 12 tons off road. It's deck is dock height from the ground, making loading a huge pain. For the dump, here in the states we have what is called a "tag a long" trailer, they are pintle towed 2 or 3 axle dovetail trailers intended for equipment. The US military only...
If you strike out PM me and I will have you one cut and mail it to you. Beware, the ignition switches seem to have been replaced over the 30 years and the correct key code is not always maintained.
James thanks for your comments, I was hoping you would chime in. This is where I am confused. Coming off of speed, I have been downshifting all the way to 1st, keeping the engine speed over 1400 like the manual says to. Right before the stop sign, I pop it into N. Are you saying to stop from...
Neither line is vacuum advance. Both are for the Centrivac governor. The distributer has centrifical advance. Coughing is a sure sign of ignition issues. I would replace the points and condenser and go from there.
Having never operated one of these transmissions I had high hopes they would be something like a Powershift in a Cat construction machine. NOT! After driving the Allison in the 915A1, I do not like this Cat no I dont. Lots of lurching, non-smooth shifts, chirping tires on downshifts, and way...
Type "M920" in the "search forums" box and you will be able to read about different experiences with recoveries of these series trucks. There is also a post about fitting a 5th wheel plate with 2" king pin for use with normal trailers. Uncle Sam just started getting rid of these this year so...
Yes, I pulled the drive shaft between the "drop box" transfer case and the forward rear axle, per the manual. That drive shaft is so heavy I could barely heave it into the cab. The ride back was white knuckle, every time the 916 would move around I would get that feeling in the seat of the...
Well I was not conviced this was a good idea, but I found out today it can be done. Kept speeds between 40 and 50 and stayed off the Interstate. The extra heft of the 916 tended to drag the light azz of the 915 around, but no ugly spin-outs or anything. Air lines for the brakes are an...
Congrats on your purchase. From the looks of it, your truck will not need any service to be able to travel. The Allison and Cummins do not have to have the pan dropped for oil service. Before you pick it up, make sure you get your Class A license or CDL with air brake endorsement, your...
You will need to supply the info from the engine data plate, especially the CPL number. That will tell the rebuilder everything he needs to rebuild your PT.
M42Dodge, first of all welcome to the site. I am nearly sure you are correct, the 100 amp system is no indicator that a M37 is or was a M42. Now, holes in the middle of the cargo bed where the table mounted might be.
Here's my ex Alaska NG SECM nursing up to the Case track hoe for a little TLC.
To me, the M1031 with the aluminum box, PTO generator and Miller XMT300 CC/CV welder is a dream rig which will still be useful long after the 1008's are done and gone.
My suggestion would be this issue is compressed air related. Any way to send some lube through the compressed air supply line to possibly free up some sticking pistons? I hope this is not a bad idea.
