I and several other members are located in NE Alabama, NW Georgia, we have discussed having a one day mini-rally around here.....If I can put it together I will post details.
It seems that I am over supplied with good running multi-fuel engines.
One is complete (to include radiator) and in a section of frame. It has a set of axles under it. I'll take 600.00 for it.
One has had the starter, alternator, turbo and fuel pump removed. 200.00 bucks
One is still in the...
I ran into the same problem with the fuel filter gaskets on a cold rainy night in Ark. (ask FreightTrain).
The filters may be cheaper some place elese but unless it is a military filter the gasket will not fit properly. I have got filters from NAPA, Advance and Carquest.
I now order my filters...
FreightTrain will be on that one like a hobo on a ham sandwich.
If he don't get it I am thinking "Bobbed 123".
I wonder why they didnt put a front winch on that monster.
If you have the money and determination you can do anything.
That being said if the engine will fit the bellhousing without any major modification you would be ahead of the game.
If the puddy tat has a lot more power than the Cummins you may have tranny issues.
My only problem with Cat engines...
The Gooberment (which includes DOD), in it's typical bassackwards way of doing things, just realized that a large part of its budget is used to heat and cool infastructure.
It is also tripping over it's self in an attempt to show the world how green it can be.
I was stationed at Fort Stewart...
I have two complete airpacks that came off parts deuces.
If you can't find the part you need I can let you have a whole one reasonable.
I am located near Centre, AL.........not that far from you.
PM for details.
I paid 4k for mine from GL but prices have dropped since then. A lot of 800 series 5 tons are hitting the market.
I took mine on a 600 mile round trip to pick up my command van trailer and other than it being slow it ran fairly good.
I talked to an old guy at a service station that was a...
I just cut up another donor deuce and we can send parts if anyone on the route needs them depending on how many stops FFemt is willing to make.
PM me or Offy for what we have and prices.
I will be pulling a tranny this weekend out of a donor truck.
I am in NE AL so you are not too far away for pickup.
200 bucks gets you the tranny and you can see if there is anything else you need.
I have a buttload of deuce parts to include two engines, TF case, axles, ETC.
PM me for details...
Happiness is a BIG belt fed weapon 8)
I have made two of these shoots and they are entertaining to say the least.
Hopefully I will have the wrecker with ringmount installed there.
Sorry if this has been discussed before and I missed it but I just got a good buy on an 87 Ford Ranger diesel.
The owner said he had been running veggie/diesel mixture.
Anybody else do this?
What is a good mixture?
I'm in AL so low temp is not a problem right now.
Thanks for any help.
I had a deuce with a "redneck gun turret" on it. A hole had been cut in the hardtop and a cutoff 55 gallon drum had been affixed to it. The drum had a removable locking ring.
It was used for convoy ops training by the SC Nat Guard.
It leaked like a sieve but looked pretty cool.
We took it to a...
Welcome to my world.
I'm not Murphy....but we are aquainted...ask my long suffering buddies FreightTrain and Offroadfabworks.
My mis-adventures recovering vehicles is legendary. aua
