Found lots of MVs and Trailers Must sell in 60 days Half Track etc

Will you or anyone else local be able to assist getting trucks loaded on commercial trucks? A heavy duty wrecker company? Crane service? That can be a show stopper for someone 1500 miles away.

    Army Railroad Crane

Wouldn't this be neat for a museum somewhere? Too bad this 240,000 lb beauty soon will have a date with a torch, but it could still be yours . . .

Just got an R2 crash truck

As much as I like original things, I would not run with the 100 amp system. I had one of those blow on me at 50 mph. The generator locked, 4 belts started to scream, the "heat sink" in front of the radiator which is a selenium rectifier caught fire, and I was scared to death. Keep it in...

    "representative pictures"

Here's how it went for me: At loadout at RRAD, pull up to the lots, forklift driver brings the items, I say, "gee, can I have that one instead", he says "sure". All items have the same diid. Pointless to preview, because you will possibly only get the lot you looked at if you are the first...

    i'm new and here's why...........

Someone went shoppin' in San Antonio. Good deals, those trucks all came from 372 FSB in Dallas and should be rust free. Welcome to the site.

Just got an R2 crash truck

There is a back issue of Military Vehicles magazine that had info on these, the R-2 was on the cover.

    91140 gross and the 818

I was told the army used to haul M60 tanks around Ft Hood on the 172, and those ain't light. I've seen a few bowed 172's come out of Hood and I suspect that is how that came to be. Not bad for trailer with 6 hole Budd wheels . . .

    Whole truck shimmy

My M135 did that for about 300 miles until one day KABLAM the right front tire blew to smithereens. It was side to side vibration too, it would rattle the windshield stay braces. My vote: tread separation.

    Any members in Guam!

Just a little FYI, there are several MV collectors on Guam but none of them are set up to move this kind of boat. Guam is not a big place, and you will have to pay whatever is asked by a crane company and trucking outfit. Moving this type boat requires a long step deck lowboy and a good size...

    humvee ???

Build one up from parts, that's one way to do it. Really hard to find engines hoods and wheels.

Preview Help at San Antonio GL

Another little tidbit about the GL sales, the more there is of something at a particular site, the better the odds you will get a screaming bargain. This sale is the most deuces ever at one time at Ft Sam.

Preview Help at San Antonio GL

Frodo is right, however as long as you don't mention lot numbers and specific items it is OK to discuss general topics related to the auction site. TXNG is Texas National Guard. If the trucks have "36" on the bumper, that is where the are from, likely from Camp Mabry in Austin. Trucks are also...

Preview Help at San Antonio GL

Welcome to the site. Bought a deuce there earlier this year. All those trucks are TXNG. I would advise taking a day off work and go look at them. You can get it hauled for about $400, that is the easy route. Towbar takes a tow vehicle with equal weight. Good luck!

Coleman G40-F Aircraft Tug Ignition System

Welcome to the site. All of those parts pictured are conventional 1970's Chrysler ignition parts, the rusty thing is the regulator for the alternator. Same parts as the M880, which is a 1976 or 1977 Dodge W-200 pickup truck. You can obtain these parts anywhere. As far as a schematic, I...

    Found it. Angle iron w/loops

The thread was "can you ID this part". The "tallback" enclosure kit rail is not what was asked about.

NOS M715 Bed w Tailgate on eBay

The bed has holes for the radio antenna, that blows the whole "new old stock" claim, it was in military service at one point.

    Picked up a sand blaster

OK, one more postscript to this thread, I noticed you had the compressor in the shed, well after painting mine, I thought it was a good idea to keep it in the shed, too. Just run the hose outside and blast whenever . . . Well I didn't think that one through. My rig has the Bullard 88 hood...

Went to camp shelby here are some pics

Trailboss, can you elaborate on the Progressive policy, are there any restrictions? Some of the antique auto/collector policies will not allow trailers and that is a bit pointless for a 818. What would I ask for if I wanted a duplicate policy for my 818? Thanks in advance.

Deuce Fording kits F/S Time Critical

Do these have the super long exhaust extension for routing the exhaust up from between the rear wheels?

    1953 Stude M275 Can't find manuals need brake help. . .

Mike, here is how you solve your brake problem. Remove your master cyl, air-pack, brake hoses, and wheel cylinders and put them in the trash. Blow out all your steel lines and inspect for rust pits. Replace any that are questionable. Throw away any brake shoes soaked in oil or brake fluid...
