Parts support for these trucks is abysmal at best. There is no one place you can call that has everything. Some parts come from Cat, some from FinditParts, some from ebay, some from FMTVtrucks.com. I would not BEGIN to consider sinking 6 digits into one of these trucks to make a camper, only...
So is the consensus that this IS a FAV? I know the FAV add-ons were kinda homemade looking, but the roll bar/gun mount on this one looks weird. Also does not have those different wheels. This is a USMC vehicle though.
Welcome. My personal opinion is to scrap all that stuff. I collect modern radio stuff and that setup does not appear to be something anyone is seeking.
Not much else. Wehring has a XM474 carrier with that engine, and I have the remnants of a A/S32H-12 aircraft loader that had that engine as well. The engine was called 75M.
Agreed with Suprman, disconnect the inverter, charge the batteries, and verify that no vehicle electrical loads are causing the overload. I have had the inverter burn up on a similar vehicle, not a fun experience. More modern inverters are available.
Better fly down and preview that one. The airdrop trucks all have cracked frames, cracked transmissions, and cracked engine blocks. That is why nobody wanted it to transfer to a fire dept etc.
Welcome. Price is fine. Don't sweat the carb/fuel system issues, these parts are readily available. On the M151s, body condition is everything. You want as little rust as possible. They all have some. Look underneath at the frame channels, these are unibody and things get ugly when rust...
Sweet pic of another 82ABN 3-319 abn field arty M1093 w/w M777 tow rig. I suppose this is at Bragg?
If you ever come across the antenna mount dovetail piece that fits between the sugar scoop and the plate attached to the cab, please let me know. The truck in my picture has that same set up...
Current civilian Haldex mentioned earlier finally installed on 915 slick. 916/920 is the same. Unit does not fit too well in this spot, but it fits. Needed a 8" longer piece of 5/8" airbrake tube to get to the tank.
What does the hive think of putting a CREW DUKE antenna on FMTV? This anti-IED EW coolness came about after my time, seems like you only see these on HMMWV and M-ATVs. Anyway, for $26 on ebay I could not resist.
