    Towing a Mite?

The mite will not self-steer. You have to tie the steering wheel or it will get out of straight ahead and scuff the tires. Way better to trailer it. Check for those "x" on the end of the front axle shafts, btw, or for sure you will watch a tire go by you. Had it happen . . .

    I must be cheap!

Mee too, also outbid on that residue M932 5 ton in VA. Went for $1800 after add-ons. Called them beforehand, they said "she forgot to put it, but it is "buyer load". Who can afford a crane, or a hd wrecker, just to load out, then $2.00/mile to haul somewhere, just for a stripped chassis...

New guy from Texas, going after the Deuce this week.

Whoo-hoo! congrats! Those trucks at Camp B are all sweeties, glad you got one. Whoever does the painting and maint at the Louisiana NG does a great job.

    Whats it called?

What is a bridge plate? Each truck is assigned a number that roughly translates into tons fully loaded. When crossing a military bridge, Bailey for example, the bridge will have a number posted on the approach to the bridge. If the truck's number is higher than the bridge, you are too heavy...

    LDS-465-1A Oil Pressure

My LDS465 is 30 idle, 60 at 2100 RPM. Aftermarket electric gauge will not work with 24 volt sender. They are refering to pressure gauge with a tube from the oil gallery.

New guy from Texas, going after the Deuce this week.

Have fun in Pineville! When you get to Camp B, enter at the truck gate. Turn left, follow the road around to where it curves sharply, on your right is the building where you meet the National Guard troops who will show you your truck. As you leave Pineville, check in with the "Center for...

Anyone interested in a lock for the KILL SWITCH ?

I've seen people take the screw out of the ignition switch and take the handle with them when they leave the truck. It's not easy to twist the switch shaft with your fingers.

    winch torque???

That is the drag brake doing what it is supposed to. You can adjust the tension if it is too much. It is inside the housing with the sheetmetal cover.

    Gin Poles Finished

Any more than 3000 and the front springs are totally compressed. Words of wisdom: When raising the winch cable, pay attention to what you are doing, or the cable will cause the poles to flip over onto the hood, leaving two large creases. I have done this twice, and my friend who was using my...

    Uh Oh!

Same problem on my M275 tractor. Memphis has the u-bolts in stock.

2 early deuces about to be crushed (SD)

Won't be hauling for a while looks like. Scrap will probably be depressed as long as the US economy is tanked and China can't sell us as much useless crap. Grab the inside rear view mirror on the dark yellow one. Those are hard to find. The other one is a LWB, except they didn't make...

Broken bolts in blocks, winches etc.

Were talking about a steel bolt in an aluminum housing, right? EZ Out is your first try, soak with penetrating oil for a long while, then use the largest EZ out you can, drill as large a hole as possible. This may still not get the bolt to budge in the corroded aluminum. Then, you may have...

    advice with paint

Try Sherwin Williams Chemical Coatings. They can match the sand CARC color. The sand will cover the green. Just wash the surfaces and roughen up with some 220 grit. Painted my 715 with the SW paint in 1991 and it still looks great.

    M939A1 alternater

Same mil-spec 60 amp 24 Volt alt as deuces, 715's, many others. Pulley is special for each application. Memphis had the serpentine pulley for my A2, maybe they have the A1.

    SandBlaster Needed

The harbor freight blast pots are a child's toy. It will take a week to blast a deuce. You want the Clemco or Schmidt 300 lb pot and a 175 CFM compressor. The sand weighs 100 lbs a sack, make sure you have a mechanical way of putting the sand in the pot or you will end up with herniated...

Found this picture from my travels

What a nice CCKW! With the original wood bed. Someone should try to drive it out, in a "Kee Bird B-29 Bomber Greenland" style recovery . . .

    Old pics

Anyone with a M-34 wheelwell type cargo bed like the one in the pictures, PM me. Not the M-135 style with the diagonal braces. I've been looking for years for one of these beds with no luck. Iv'e got 6 early Reo combat wheels and want to convert one of the 1987 M35's into a 1951 pattern, but...

    Solid Gold M105A2?

GL got tired of selling the 105's for $100 so they invented the "bobed deuce" and have been flashing subliminal "bob your deuce" messages on the web sites to create a market for the usless trailers.

I accidently bought three deuces, um help.

Don't default. That is a cash flush. You can do this from where you are. Line up a transportation broker to move the trucks for you to a location where your wife can manage the sales. She can also manage the title work easily. You will be able to sell the trucks to commerical business for...

    M715/s250 ?

If you enjoy off roading, the 715 is a better pick than a 5 ton for sure. They ride rough unloaded and if you get stuck, it is all over. The 2 1/2 ton is lots of fun, but is a lot of truck for a jeep trail.
