You will pay 10% over the win price to GL, and then you will have to run the title paperwork through your name to be able to transfer to someone else, that might run you $60 if you can do a title only. Don't worry, you will sell them, just be prepared that GL will charge your credit card...
My M1037 has one of those brackets in back. On the 715, I made up some cable/turnbuckle assemblies to tie the lifting rings on the S250 to the tiedown loops on the 4 corners of the 715 bed. Looks great and no holes had to be drilled in the bed . . .
Fits perfect and looks great. Have to remove troop seats. The shelter is a dream camper, because there was never any radio stuff inside. These S250s were rolling tool boxes for the MLRS "scudbusters" The 230 OHC is not fond of it, however. Will still do 50 mph. You made a great buy!
During Hurricane Ike, my 5 kW military generator was burning $40 a day in gas. Got expensive after a week . . . 100 kW is about 180 hp engine, plan on 55 gal of diesel every 4 hours . . .
Nope, no picture here, but mine is identical. On GL, they go for 2K up to 6K. I see them at Barstow often and they are cheaper there. A tug like you posted a picture of has huge value, upwards of 40K. Those are still being used for pushbacks. One possible drawback of the PSI tug in plowing...
Since you're about to be a GMC expert, if you call the GMC axle a "banjo" everyone will think you are an old hand at this. Sometime during WWII or maybe before, the GMC "corporate" axle with the tick-tac-toe cover was nicknamed that.
A really common model being surplused right now is the PSI Mobile Products version of the MB-2. They are 4x4 and 4 wheel steer, with a Perkins 4 cyl turbo diesel. These were bought by uncle in 1989-90. They come up on Government Liquidation all the time. I have a really nice one for sale at...
That's Turner's Surplus, Hooks, TX. Visit there when you pick up your GL winnings at Red River Arsenal. My Clark Planeloader forklift came from Turners. Great little store, not too much in the way of army truck parts. For that, visit Red River Parts, just down the Interstate.
1. Take off the wheel. 2. Remove the flange nuts. 3. Beat on the end of the axle with a big hammer until the little drive cones come loose. 4. Remove them using a screwdriver to split them open a bit. 5. Pull axle shaft or flange out. 6. Oil runs on floor. 7. Unscrew the wheel...
Be legal on your way home! Collector insurance policy, one trip plate from your state's DMV.
Check the brake fluid level, bring some silicone DOT 5 fluid!
Watch out on wet/icy pavement - those 11:00-20's will slide very easily.
My advice: Have someone haul it for you. You may get it hauled for around $2.00/mile or in your case $500. The GL girls at Ft Polk are all business and will not be patient with prolonged attempts to jump start, pull start and the like. Use a transportation broker such as...
