Source found for Commando chevron tires

In the 1990's when I was doing research on the Commando I tracked the tire molds for the Commando Special to a company called Primex. I think the tire was called the Patriot at the time. They cost about $1200 each if I remember correctly. I have a copy of the tire design document in my records...

Aberdeen 2017 (44th East Coast Rally held at Ripken Stadium May 11-13

rickf, Sorry no I did not, I arrived around 9am. With having to weave through the market area and the new road way I had to watch for pedestrians. Gentleman walked out to his truck parked on the edge of the roadway, unaware that I was there. I am not a fan of the new roadway. Seems like...

Aberdeen 2017 (44th East Coast Rally held at Ripken Stadium May 11-13

I went to Aberdeen today as well, I did not quite understand the roadway to the parking either. I had to weave around Jim Henry. Was he loading or unloading that truck today? It seemed like nothing moved off of the truck when I went by. I really wish they would group vendors together...

    Parts commonality

V100, XM706, M706. All are the same vehicle. Remember Cadillac Gage was a defense contractor for more then the Commando series of vehicles. They made turret controls among other things. Rick

WTK: Best way to line a V100 intergral fuel tank

The factory way was to fill the fuel tank with the sealer and then let it drain out. The remainder lined the tank. Not sure you want to buy 55 gallons of sealer. Rick

    Proper designation- V100 or M706

It has been awhile since I posted, actually as with the government it is not that easy. The original V100's were purchased under a special funding program for the troops in Vietnam called ENSURE (Expedited Non Standard Urgently Requested Equipment). This is why they had the X designation, they...

    WTK: V100 Transfer Case value

I have a book on Central American armor with pictures of those. I was always interested in more detail. The book alludes to TACOM being involved in the conversion but no details. Rick

    WTK: V100 Transfer Case value

Jason, I have heard of a few hulls without the case over the years. I know that there is possibly a knockoff copy of the t-case made in Guatemala or El Salvador in the 80's for their locally produced armored cars. Rick

    WTK: V100 Transfer Case value

Interesting thread. MichiganM1038, I would be interested in a copy of your drawings just to preserve the knowledge for future needs. Keith Rucker on youtube uses a CatTail Foundry to cast iron objects. I would think you will need to have a core made and then the cope and drag made up for...

    Very early XM-706

That was the problem with the X designation. Parts are not standard stock items. The MP units campaigned to have the V100 accepted as a stock item so parts could be carried as normal items. Unfortunately CadGage was not able to keep up with demand from ARVN, Army and Air Force demands.
