    bad mep002a rotor

I'm a dumbass. When I broke out the 5-6115-584-34 it shows them wired together in figure 8-2. These are the exciter coils on the rotor. Thanks for the answers.

    bad mep002a rotor

I was replacing the rotating diodes today. While I had them off I went ahead and checked the coil resistance and coil to coil resistance, and all 3 are shorted together. Does anybody know how much it will cost to have the rotor re-wound?

    MEP-016b/MEP-701a A/C Hookup Confusion

Issac-1, You are correct that I got the 2x load for 10 seconds from the tests described on page 10-2 of the -34 manual. I interpreted the "rated current" as the generator current, not the breaker current. At the top of the table it mentions MIL-STD-705. I googled it, and looked up the...

    MEP-016b/MEP-701a A/C Hookup Confusion

Wow, this thread came roaring back to life :-) In no particular order: 120/240 is absolutely a mode this unit was designed for. The schematic in the lid of the control box makes that clear. I have load tested 2 of my MEP 701A's to 6KW/6KVA (power factor of 1) in 120V mode (50Amps). The...

If your Mep 701 matches the schematic I posted, no jumper is needed.

    MEP-016b/MEP-701a A/C Hookup Confusion

I have 3 MEP 701A's, none of them match the schematics in the manuals, or the data plate that lists the connections on the side of the acoustic cover. There is a schematic inside the control box that I verified as correct with my multimeter. To see the schematic, remove the top acoustic...

    MEP 016B/701A Questions

Make sure there's enough fuel in the tank, otherwise the "low fuel" condition will cause the solenoid to extend and shut it down.

Thanks M813rc, those are the ones I was talking about.

    m52..army vs. marine

On all of our trucks, the side shackles were always in place. They were long arms attached to the frame mount with a pin and stuck out a few inches past the bed. The Army trucks never had the arms on them.

    m52..army vs. marine

When I was in the Corps, all of our deuces & 5-tons had lifting shackles on the front bumpers and attached to the frames & beds on either side between the rear axles. None of the Army trucks I saw ever had them.
