    New wheels and tires 37s

Those are very awesome! Funny how the new tread design looks like an updated version of the old 36" bias-plys. Big side lugs and "S"s down the middle. When my 31"s are worn down, I would love to get a set. That's a ways away though. :grd:

what branch/unit did your cucv serve with?

My M1009 was first issued to the Air Force at MacDill AFB where it was used until the mid 90's. It was then transfered to Patrick AFB, south of Cape Canaveral where I'm assuming it did little but rust away. The previous owner (first civilian owner) bought it a few years ago in a DRMO auction as...

    Looking at a M1009

This, and that it has all the military specific parts like the correct bumpers, starter and alternators. Antennae mounts are a plus. Make sure the drive shafts are straight. I assume the military likes to move DRMO trucks with forklifts because I have seen a lot of CUCV's with bent drive shafts...

    1009 body tub

My m1009 had rotted out floorboards and I replaced it with some 14 gauge sheet metal. To be honest the stock floor is a little chessy and replacement panels are even worse. You could do the entire tub of the truck for a couple hundred bucks. I can post some pics if you want. Finding a complete...

well i was looking for a hmmwv....

I've talked to a friend of mine that has a H1 done up with lots of military gear (lift bumpers, rocker guards, fording kit, 12 bolt hmmwv wheels, 37" goodyears etc.) and he said that it looked like a pretty good deal. I will be back in Orlando in late august, if the truck is still available, I...

    CUCV M1028A2 5.9L Cummins install

Very nice job! I like where you put the rear battery, I wish GM would have done it that way. Did you have any oil pan/axle clearance issues?

    Mystery Antenna Base

The hole is actually 2 inches, when using my worn out tape measure I started at 1 inch and forgot to subtract the inch :cookoo: So knowing this, could I use a AB-15/GR or MP-65 and MS-116a, 117a and 118a antennas in conjunction with a CB radio or is this a no-no. Are these tunable for SWR? I...

    Mystery Antenna Base

Thank you papacom, Does anyone have a picture of one of these installed on a MUTT? Either my google-foo is weak or these things are hard to come by. Just wanted to see one installed. P.S. This mount doesn't have any bolt holes in the top which i thought was strange, it just has a single hole...

    Mystery Antenna Base

The base in question was given to me by my girlfriend's dad who got it eons ago in a lot of surplus equipment. It is currently mounted on my Jeep Cherokee for my CB radio. I know the mount on a mount set up looks weird. My original intent was to use a retaining disc from an angle grinder and a...
