ANother point that might help troubleshooting, when I let off the pedal it won't shift into the next gear unless I'm over 25 for first, 42 for second to third.
One other problem I need ot work out on the 84 6.2L CUCV I'm working with is a hard shift issue
Again, only 61K on it. When shifting at low throttle, it hangs on to the gears way too long, then finally smashes itself into the next gear.
Under full throttle, it shifts smoothly and on time...

This rig is an 84-ish 6.2L diesel with 61K on the odometer. The problem is that it cranks without starting when just cold...

RE: Anyone in Colorado that can help me out here? Axle boots
The problem is that it is pulling off of the smaller groove, not when I'm trying to repair them, but only when I drive them... so it is always a suprise and a mess to find out that they come off. I'll review the article you posted and...
Sounds like you're in for a good thread here - as all turbo threads in this website here turn out to be. Welcome to the black magic arena of forced induction.
If you're 2" behind (down-wind) of the turbocharger, add in 100 degrees C for temp drop from soak and so forth on the vanes of the turbo...
I have both maps... well, like 5 maps, I'll need your ID numbers off of the intake housing of the turbocharger to send you the proper data...
