    Can anyone identify this device?

Well it's obviously not an airplane. There are no wings! I was mearly stating that the front control panel is off from a power supply that is used for cold weather suits LIKE the ones used in old airplanes.

    Can anyone identify this device?

Possibly part of a welder. But the machine clearly has a connection port for a cold weather flight suit. Says right on the front.

    Can anyone identify this device?

Yea that's probably what I meant. I am not an aircraft guy. I teach power generation at a vocational school.

    Can anyone identify this device?

It actually is a cobbled together pile of parts. It is in fact a generator. Part of it is the power supply from a 24 VDC suit heater used in the B52 bombers I think, back in the 40's. The gunners and cargo crew in the back of the plane wore them to keep from freezing. The machine looks to...

Starter/cable problem with the 5 Ton

Hey guys! I downloaded the manual and will begin troubleshooting this weekend. I wanted to ask first if there may be a common issue here I can check first and maybe save myself some time. The other day I was cranking the engine for a while, (10-15 seconds) trying to start it, but it was...

Legality of a Deuce in IL, and is 40k miles too much?

Agreed! My 5 Ton sat for years and all of the axle seals leaked. The worst thing you can do to any type of car or truck is to let it sit.

I can only help if my wife benifits!!

Nicely said! I am in total agreeance. Nowhere did it say "The King can spend every day doing what he wants and leave the Queen to tend to the kids and house".

I can only help if my wife benifits!!

Is that truley the issue? Your wife has to benefit? Or maybe that you're never home and it COSTS you money on your day off to go to DRMO?? I would do anything to help anyone in need. But if it was a weekly scheduled thing and it cost me gas money and other expenses then I would have to rethink.

    I'm just curious...

I bought my 5 ton for the novelty really. That's why I ever do anything. But I have found many, many uses for it. 1) Taking my little girls to school. 2) Driving to the liquor store. 3) Just making noise. 4) Getting from home to work. 5) Going to Papa Murphy's for a pizza. 6) Laying...

    Possable PNW Dune Trip

Makes sense, I can just fill up with 75 gallons and bring 1 drum extra, that's 130 gallons, plenty. They wont see it!

How much motor oil can I burn as fuel?

I have used this Duece Elixer of Wrecker's, in slightly different ratios, (actually more UMO). It runs very well. The engine is actually quieter and I haven't noticed any difference in power. It still sounds like a clothes drier full of framing hammers at idle, but the typical diesel...
