    Oil Fairy?!?!

    A bad head gasket can get fuel into the oil thus making it appear that there is more oil than there should be. Edit: Actualy there's several things that can get fuel into the oil in these trucks. Check the oil again and see if it has a diesel smell to it.

    Perkins Powered Deuce

    Perkins does have a straight 6 model that is about the same size as a 5.9 cummins. We have one in our spray rig, and it is a very reliable smooth and strong running engine.

    Yep! I'm not too worried about her though. I changed the head gaskets a few months ago and the pistons and turbo looked nice and pretty! Also the gasket change cut the smoke in half for whatever reason. I do believe its partially due to a couple bad injectors. That's also on the list.. I'm just...

    Nope no pyro. ...yet... the FDC was bypassed, and I don't think they turned down the fuel when they bypassed it like they are supposed to. A pyro is on the list, but it's never had any problems

    Smoke ain't nothing. The PO (91W350) took this video of my deuce smoking, and it HAS a turbo.

    I usually just disconnect the batt, and I haven't had any problems, but I've heard some people disconnect the alternator too. Maybe someone else will chime in with a better answer.

    There's really not any sensitive electronics on the deuce that would be affected, but it's always a good practice to disconnect the electrical system when welding on a vehicle.
