    Massey Ferguson 40 tractor

Don’t know how I missed this thread until now, but I own a MF40 tractor. The one I have is a shuttle shift, and I’ve got a 3-point and PTO. This one appears to be a instant-reverse, which doesn’t work well at all with 3-point or PTO. On the instant-reverse tractors it has a torque converter to...

    Dump Bed Kit Installation

You can get a pressure gauge to measure the psi. There is a pressure relief valve somewhere in the system, this controls max system pressure. The relief valve is often made into the control valve, but every system is different. Usually the pressure relief valve is adjustable. You’ve got to...

    Big Sandy River Tn?

You never know, with all the stuff I’ve held for people over the years. I was hoping I didn’t have something of yours and forgot about it.

How not to treat your deuce

He did a John Rambo at 1:00. I have to admit, we did something kind of similar one time. I bought a deuce off of GSA as a parts truck that was already beat to pieces. After getting the truck home though, I put some batteries on it and it started right up and ran great. We ran it pretty hard for...

    Dump Bed Kit Installation

How much PSI is your pump putting out? When I first installed the dump on my deuce, I had a heaping load on and it wouldn't dump it without removing some first. I checked my pump, and it wasn't putting out but 1,500 psi. I bumped the pressure up to 2,500, and I have since dumped 8 tons (yes, I...

    Winch Help.

Been awhile since I’ve been into one (the post of mine you quoted is 10 years old), but I bet it’s just rust on the shaft. Clean the shaft really good and put it back together. I’d venture to guess that you would pull the winch off the mounts before you bent the shaft or drum.

    Isuzu engine swap

Went and looked at the truck today, it has the 4BD1T in it. I think I’m going to get it home and see if it runs. I was first hesitant to put a rice burner in the m715, but when you search around the little engine has rave reviews. My original plan was to use a deuce transmission to mate to...

    Isuzu engine swap

I’ll have to get some. I haven’t even looked at the engine yet, because I wasn’t even thinking about it until today. The truck is still at the guy’s place where I got it. I’m going to go by there tomorrow and get some pics, and hopefully some info off a data plate. According to the research I’ve...

    Isuzu engine swap

A couple of months ago a guy gave me a old Isuzu box truck that had been sitting awhile (said the brakes went out is why it was parked). My original plans was to use the box for storage and scrap the rest. Fast forward to today. I’m out at the shed looking at my M715. About 3 years ago it wasn’t...

M870A1 Dayton to Pilot Hub swap

I didn’t know shops wouldn’t work on Daytons ( we do all our own tire work). Only reason I can think of is the flunkies in the shop don’t know how to line them up. We just haven’t had good luck with low profile 22.5, especially cheap ones.

M870A1 Dayton to Pilot Hub swap

I’ve got a M870 trailer, but ours came with stud pilot wheels. Nothing wrong with Daytons though. We just swapped the wheels over to 17.5 tubeless. You could have done that with the Dayton hubs, just bought 17.5 tubeless Dayton wheels. Are you sure the 22.5 tires won’t rub during articulation...

    M1000 Trailer

The truck has quite the history, it transported tanks across the desert during Operation Desert Storm. Was in the 471st transportation company , driven by Sgt Robbin Titus. Here is the thread about the truck https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mack-rd822sx.145915/ It is a 1985 Mack...

    M1000 Trailer

Wireless remote is actually not all that costly these days. The problem is how to make it all work. In a ideal world, you'd just swap out the hyd valve stack with solenoid valves, but it's not that easy on the M1000. Everything is hard piped to the valve stack, and it is pretty tight quarters...

    M1000 Trailer

He's actually adjusting the level. When moving something that heavy and that tall, you really have to watch your trailer level, when traveling over uneven terrain. There is actually a framing level laying on the deck, and he is watching it and adjusting accordingly. For the military uses, they...

    Steel Soldiers migration 12/9/19

Yes, I've been around here through a few site changes also. I have to admit, I don't like change, but I've come to learn that change is just a part of life, so I deal with it. If Drew said we needed to change, I take his word on it, and we needed to change. Lord knows that I have no idea about...

I've got the search icon now. I don't know what you did, but it seems to have fixed it.
