I just called Oshkosh at 920-235-9150 to ask for a PDF copy of the TM. They said No since the rights were sold to the USA.
They did say we can call tech support with questions. 1-800-392-9921 Option 2. Hopefully they can help with my water leaking problems.
Thank you frank8003! Yes, that USMC one would be what I need.
Any chance you or anyone know where I can download or pay for a hard copy somewhere? I think someone on this thread had some leads few years back... Thanks in advance.
As you probably remeber, I got the trailers from Barstow to Sacramento with all you guys' help. Trying to tow with Range Rover Sport, but even with a riser the hitch is much lower than the ring. I swapped out the tires and still could not tow evenly. I always thought this would be a viable...
Sorry, have been hibernating...
I lowered one of the trailers with 8x6.5 wheel and Bridgestone V-Steel 245/75/16 tires. Since the height difference of the tires was about 7 inches, the end result was lowering the trailer by just about 3.5 inches. So sadly, with maximum riser on my Range Rover...
Swapped out all 1251 bulbs with Napa 67 and 97 bulbs today. Worked well. Don't know what the difference is between 67 and 97.
Made an adapter from 4 flat to mil 12 pin. Works.
White (ground) = D
Brown (tail/running) = E
Yellow (left) = B
Green (right) = J
Made a mistake when using a much...
Mailsail, your math is fine, but my brain cells weren't! From the base of my 2 inch receiver to
deck is 12 inches. The riser is 12 inches, but the base of the pintle-ball hitch rises only 8 inches, so my net increase is 20 inches from deck. The base of the M1102 lunette, at level, is 28...
Thanks Chevimp63!! Looks like getting smaller wheels is the way to go.
Thanks Mainsail!! I thought about getting a custom riser. The max prefab is 12in right now,
I will need about 20 inches. Just concerned that it is too high to create large stress on the
bend if trailer jerks? Of...
UPDATES
So I have had my trailers for 3 months now... Have not done much.
Spliced the plug to flat 4 connector, and got lights working in one. 12V bulbs work great.
Got my SF97 without any problems. DMV liked it, but they still want to visually
inspect the vehicle with VIN confirmation...
Chevimp63,
I am still not sure where I went wrong, as I have not tried to splice it after I got back.
Since I cut the plug off and exposed all wires, I had to try all combinations but none worked.
Assuming my attempts were correct, then downstream I have a continuity problem.
My best advice...
Thanks clutzer.
Thanks again for everyone's input in my quest to get M1102s from Barstow. Now that this
mission is accomplished, I will search for other threads to see what "life after recovery" should be like.
Over and out.
I see what you are saying 3dAngus. Thanks. We had discussed this scenerio earlier with everyone very kindly offered their solutions. I chose to connect the chains directly to the vehicle safety loops, so that if receiver fails then I will not lose the trailer.
Thanks 3dAngus with your info.
Not sure what you meant about not needing chain extension though. With the drawbar in the
pintle, the chains at full extension does not reach the vehicle safety hookup.
*********Successful Recovery of M1102 at Barstow***********
At the conclusion of all your inputs, I am very happy to report that today was a great day!
Though exhausted, but let me share my experience with you before I forget.
We drove to Barstow the night before and stayed at Ramada Inn...
Yeah, I think we are all set. I have backups for all bad scenerios that I can think of, and also check with the Mayan gods who promised not to end the world before I get my trailers.
That being said, if anyone sees THREE M1102 trailers on CA-99/58/I-40 on Monday heading north from Barstow...
