    Transmission stall? Torque converter?

Not sure about that. Engine rev's and drives just fine at idle. Pulls fine going down the road.

    Transmission stall? Torque converter?

Good evening, I'm not in the habit of doing this often and rarely go off road anymore, but could anyone help this. Over the years I've noticed that when under load my m1009 sometimes feels like it just stalls out and wont put power to the wheels. Most recently I felt like just popping over a...

    Utility Trailer

I don't have measurements, but anyone know if I'll have issues with tongue/hitch height hauling around a basic 8x10 or 4x6 utility trailer (generally with 13inch wheels)? I've installed a ball/Pintle hitch combo on the bumper of my m1009 and want to get a small trailer for my riding mower and...

    Blowing Starter solenoid fuses

Taking a quick look at it now in the parking lot at work. All seems in order. Pulled the inspection cover off to have a look at the bendix, well it was in the forward, extended position riding\stuck on the fly wheel. Used a pry bar to disengage it and gave it another whirl. Fired right up...

    Blowing Starter solenoid fuses

That's correct, no fusible link just this in line fuse holder. I'll try a larger fuse but the fact that it melted a paper clip has me worried. What's the amp rating on a paperclip? Haha haha So I'll try a 40 amp fuse, that seems to be the largest with out going to one of those massive ones used...

    Blowing Starter solenoid fuses

Years back I did the dog head mod. I had had a run on starter and melted the fusible link going down to the starter solenoid. I replaced the damaged wiring and installed an inline 30amp fuse in place of the fusible link that had been there from the factory. Every six months or so that 30amp...

    "Heavy Duty" headlight harness

Thanks for your input. I've got the LMC harness all set up just need to figure out what to do with the wire at the fuse block. It doesn't help that the previous owner spliced into that headlight wire. There is a orange 10 gauge wire soldered onto the red headlight wire with a 30 amp inline fuse...

    "Heavy Duty" headlight harness

As has been the case for many others, the area on the fuse block around the headlight fuse has melted and the fuse no longer stays secure enough to keep the lights on steadily. I remembered I've got the LMC truck headlight harness laying around and will be installing it tomorrow. I've read...

NP208 front output shaft seal-Can't seem to find one & I'm stumped

Replaced that same seal awhile back. Noticed some drip drip drip action still going on afterwards. Finally got around to putting a sleeve on the output shaft (it was a little marred up). Just wrapped that up the other day. Simple enough. Upon inspection it still seems as though its sweating...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I did not thin. My Wagner flexio 570 can spray unthinned latex, no problem. I suppose thinning will give me thinner coats in general though.. still need to sand it all down and go at it again. I'll never get it perfectly smooth though. The military did a great job of putting gobbs of carc on...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Hey guys, Painted my M1009 yesterday. Plan on doing another coat today. My spray gun was acting funky and put out way too much paint. Anyways, it's got a little too much of that spatter/speckled texture going on. Would you suggest I hit it with sandpaper before the next coat? What grit? Thanks!

    Members in Northern Virginia?

Yes, Harrisonburg sorry. Hunting access and fire roads aside there are dedicated off highway vehicle trails. http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/gwj/passes-permits/?cid=fsbdev3_000477 Never done any of them before so curious which ones if any are along the lines of what im looking for.

    Members in Northern Virginia?

Good day to all, For the longest time I've wanted to explore some of the OHV trails in and around Harrisonburg. I believe they are in the G.W forest. I'm curious to know if anyone is familiar with these trails? I'm waiting on approval to join a local jeep forum, I'm sure the guys on there have...

    Unbalanced brake drums

I'd check the tire balance. Better yet before $$ for balance rotate the tires and see if the vibration follows the tires. Typically you'll feel rear imbalance in the seat and front imbalances in the steering wheel. The drum may not have needed a weight from the factory.

    Oil/Trans Cooler lines

As of now I've got no issues with my lines. If the day comes they need tending to I'm going that route. I was dreading a brake line job that needed to be done on my Honda. All the hard lines. Master cylinder to all four corners..rotted. The thought of all that bending was a big turn off. My past...

    another no start

Well, the fusible link melted when I had a run on starter. Been a while ago now. I can only speculate the fuse going out has something to do with all the extra flexing its been doing cranking this bad boy up on the mornings I don't have the block heater plugged in. New glow plugs in as of today...

    another no start

Actually blew the 30amp maxifuse I had installed in place of a previously melted fusible link going down from the power bank to the starter solenoid. I suppose this is why a fusible link with some flexibility is normally used there.
