    M1010 DUVAC Removal Plan "B"

Nice work I was thinking about cleaning up the wiring also, but sometimes I think maybe a future owner will want to go back to stock. I think it would be a bad idea but you never know. In the end I will probably do the same one day and just save all the wiring along with the box just in case.

    Fire Extinguisher

Does anyone know what's inside the fire extinguishers that were used in the CUCV trucks? Are they safe to still have in the truck? I have 2 that were in my M1010. Both appeared to be filled with a liquid and seem full, there's no gauge. Curious if they could have become hazardous over time...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

started to renovate the rear camper on the M1010 this week. I converted it to a camper a few years ago but never changed the inside walls. Last summer I changed the ceiling and this week I removed the aluminum wall panels and 1" of fiberglass insulation. I added 1-1/2" ridged foam and fiberglass...

yes steering columns are a pain. I just removed the entire dash and column from an old Scout to paint the metal dash and it was a pain to put everything back together.

    M1010 Starter Button

I have had this M1010 for a number of years. When I first got the truck I was having problems keeping the batteries charged. I did make the conversion posted under M1010's to remove the blue box and one 24 volt alternator. I replaced it with a heavy truck 12 volt version of the same make that...

    M1010 Starter Button

    M1010 Starter Button

Quick question about my M1010. I am currently having a starting problem and before I get to deep into it I want to see if anyone has the same starter setup as my truck. It has a standard key ignition switch but you only turn this to the on position. once the glow plug light goes out, there is a...

    M1010 DUVAC Removal Plan "B"

I took my M1010 on a weekend trip to the beach 2 weeks ago. this was the first trip with the new alternator set up. everything worked great. charged both batteries and had good 12 volt supply for my camper items. I would recommend this for others. the only modification I needed to do was some...

    M1010 DUVAC Removal Plan "B"

thanks for the info. I made the plan B swap this weekend and it worked great. I get 13.7 volts. I think I would get the 14.2 volt that is listed for the new unit but both of my belts are a little loose. When I got the truck a few years ago the belts were shredded. The best fit from my parts...

M1010 heavy modding ...would U do it?

I got my M1010 around 4 years ago. it was last used as a service truck so some of the ambulance parts in the back were replaced with tool storage. I converted the back to a camper. propane stove, heater and a sink. added a bed and folding table and a small window in each side. I use it surf...

    M1010 DUVAC Removal Plan "B"

I think I am ready to try the alternator swap. I have thetypical M1010 charging problems. I just cleaned all the connections to both alternatorsand the DUVAC and that did not help. I did find a broken “jumper wire” betweentwo terminals on the DUVAC. It had a tag on it stating it was a...
