Still happy with the cut-off I installed a few years ago. Only one hole drilled. Have the same switch in my M151A2.

A vendor on this site, Those Military Guys, have a good switch. I have installed them on M998 and M151A2.

The contacts are spring loaded and mounted in a rubber base so they can get compressed over time and not be making good contact. Also, there is probably some corrosion on them.

Gov Planet tried to charge me Texas diesel tax on M1008. I got it refunded, I believe, based on weight of vehicle.

Did you check the left side of the transmission tunnel for a metal tag just above fuel lines? It may be covered with paint. We needed to look closely for it. It will have some of the information you need.

The electrical components you mention have all been a source of problems on my H1. The trim around dash just make it harder to work on. I would much rather work on my M998 than on my H1. I agree that value would be lowered because of modifications. Also TMs would be of less help. But it is...

My early USMC M998 has very crude drain holes in rear floor. They do not look like 5.56, however. There are repair kits available to fix these crude holes which tells me they were fairly common.

Besides fixing what is wrong this is a good argument for ground cut-off switch.

Agree. I think of the soft top C pillar as a top bow and nothing else.

When installing new fastener put a little anti-seize on the threads. I would rather have to tighten the mirror than install new rivnut. Also some people put some epoxy on the outside of the rivnut when installing.
