if it helps any the city I work for just auctioned off a 84 m1009 that was in poor shape. Lots of rust I mean holes in the floor rust (the city used it to plow snow) and no batteries had not been started in over a year with poor interior condition and it still went for 700 dollars.

on your volt gauge the one in my m1008 wont register either. I found out by accident one day if you tap on it with a little force it spings into life, at least until you shut the truck off then you have to tap it again when you restart it kind of a pain by easier then rebuild or replacing it:)
