    ??? SWAP ??? Magnum 360 to carb to 727 in my 77 M886

Good points, for sure. Thinking that the drivetrain should be fairly bulletproof with 4.10 gears, 33" tires = 2,700 rpm at 65 mph. Wouldn't mind finding a 4 speed with 4x4, but those are like finding hen's teeth around here.

    ??? SWAP ??? Magnum 360 to carb to 727 in my 77 M886

Been searching different places for this specific project; hoping the answers are here. Donor is a 360 (5.9) Magnum motor from a ram 3500 van with 57k. The electronics and fuel injection will be removed and replaced with HEI distributor, MSD box, 55026 intake manifold and Demon 650cfm carb...

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

imho, that bumper is perfect for your W400! It is TOO funny that you'd mention bedliner........... I am planning to "Raptor" one of my 886s from top to bottom with the tintable version. Part of that strategy is shoring up and sealing the seams of the box. I just haven't decided which 886 to...

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice work, Don. More impressed with this than anything Foose (and his umpteen workers and unlimited budget) is into. Have you considered Plasti-Dip over the sanded bumper? You can layer it and it is available in many colors. Just a thought.....

    M886 Dodge Ambulance

As a heads up, snakeyes advised me via PM he has two M886s available. I really hope someone notices and gives these some consideration! I'm 1,000 miles away, else I'd be having em......

    M886 Dodge Ambulance

I'm building one into a 'bugout' style backwoods runner. The low hp 318 is a good fit for just such a rig. While it will labor to do 65 down the highway, it has great grunt for backroads and pulling.

    M886 Dodge Ambulance

snakeyes, I have 3 1977 M886s. Considering there were about 8 times more production of M715/725s (and they are Jeeps) may explain the amount of attention given. I love mine -

M37 / Civilian Power Wagon axles different?

Yup. Really happy to have the 4.89s to install front and rear on that Power Wagon.

M37 / Civilian Power Wagon axles different?

So I can transplant the gears and replace (with new) whatever else is broken in the Civilian..........

M37 / Civilian Power Wagon axles different?

I own a '52 M37 with 4.89 gears. I also own a '52 Civilian Power Wagon with 5.83s and something broken in the rear drive. I seem to see that the gears will switch between the two, but there are differences in the axles that wouldn't allow me to swap in the whole unit from the M to the Civilian...

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are GREAT shots of work in progress! I was wondering just how these were set up. This gives me some inspiration to do some remedial work on mine. Agreed on the planned longevity of these - made for the Gov't by contract - NOT gonna be engineered for 40+ years of use. I was driving the...

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

MMM Panel Adhesive is expensive but holds amazingly well. That and a moderate amount of s.t. screws would pretty much assure a secure roof.

W400 Ambulance: aka: Dubya Four Hundred Bambulance: I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen the culvert and drum "thing" - could work. The big concern with the roll roofing is to make sure your bracing/cross members are just so. That stuff is 22 gauge, just like car parts stores sell.
