Connected my MEP-803A the proper way as my home standby generator... Install pics...

So I power the house with 242volts as that is what FPL provides to my box. I use a 4 core 6 ga wire (L1, L3, Neutral and Ground). The spec for the wire was 600v/45amps. Hope this helps. These Generators can actual produce more than 10KW for brief periods I have seen it push 14KW on occasion...

    New Gauges for MEP-80Xa

Thanks Ted, I had to do the same just filed it down to make it fit. On the wiring, I left the amp and voltage wiring as is from the original gauge. It works fine. But I like the K1 feed for the load rather than running the wiring all the way down to the lugs for the load. If I replace the...

    New Gauges for MEP-80Xa

Can you show your wiring photo for the K1 wiring? I left the original gauge as it showed % load vs volt and amperage which is already tracked. But was thinking of getting a load digital feedback to test

    New Gauges for MEP-80Xa

Chrispny, I actually called the beede support line to get replacements, and the customer support team told me Beede was bought by Faria and he looked up the replacement parts. the only difference was the 24 vs 12 volts and the temp sensor needed a resistor to get the same reading. They are...

Okay yeah i know were that is it is behind the backboard, have to remove the top cover to get to it. I actually had that off last week to clean out all the dust that was back there. Thanks for the info. Guyfang actually said to remove the top cover but i skipped right over that. m

    Mep-803a produces no power

Thanks Pete01. I don't believe I need to run this test "http://www.steelsoldiers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=634061&d=1468836542&thumb=1" now as the generator is working fine and provides my house power with no issues. Guyfang I will test for the 24 volts at the light it self now. The...

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

NewEra, just thought of something for you to test. When you check you lugs are you getting voltage to them. I assume you are using 120/240volt, single phase on the inside control box dial setting, and L1,L3,single phase on the panel setting voltage dial. You should have about 110volts on each...

    New Gauges for MEP-80Xa

All, Not sure if anyone is looking but Faria Euro gauges work as a replacement for the Beede gauges used for temp, oil pressure and fuel. Here is where I ordered them from: http://www.boatersland.com/faria-euro.html buT other places have them. They need a 100 ohm 1 watt resistor on the I...

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

dependable, I was just trying to clean up all the bits and bobs that did not work. The lights are all that is left. I could not load test until the electrician was here to test with me and make sure i had wired it right. He was actually pretty jealous of the generator especially as i only...

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

NewEra, the switch does work, it is the push to test light that does not work. I did the continuity test on the switch and it worked fine. When i hooked it up to the house and closed the circuit the lugs were hot and had plenty of current ended up pushing 48 amps with the AC's running. The...

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

i used a manual transfer switch. still no lights, but oh well no idea why they do not work, but the rest of it does so just going to ignore them for now. I also replaced the oil, temp and fuel gauges with gauges with the following: http://www.boatersland.com/faria-euro.html. You need a 100...

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

Replaced them already. But the good news is the generator is on and working fine. I have the entire house connected and running on it. Ran for 30 minutes no issues at about 60% load with one 3 ton one 2 ton and a mini split plus fridge and water heater with no issues. Very happy. m

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

Okay followed the test in 2-27.2 and voltage regulator worked as expected. Also checked voltage at the lugs and they were good. Tomorrow we load it up to check current and see if the old boy can run the house. m

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

yes that is the next step i believe. The ac interrupt push to test is failing to light up as is the battle short push to test. The system does come up and is running well small fluctuations at the voltage and hertz less than 2 hertz and 5 volts but i have not tested loading up the lugs yet...

MEP-803a runs great, makes power, circuit interrupter and battle short inoperable

Okay so i tested the switch for ac interrupter and the battle short switch per the manual both test working. I was still looking for some guidance on this test as will try it tonight: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthr...tage+regulator How is this test done do i need to run it to test it...
